| How can we get rid of porn?? |
|
| |
I was asked about a blog i wrote about my dislike fro porn. I would be a lier to tell you I don't like to look at beautiful women. I was talking to a guy one day and he said, "Wouldn't you like you see that woman and some other woman having sex together? So, I said, "no!" He came back with, "Your a hypocrite, to say that. You can see how hot they both are!! "Well", I said, "It does not matter what I would like to see anyway. It is pravece and unnatural. I can't understand why people who are old enough to understand that are seeking it." Well ,that was that we are not friends anymore. Big loss. some people can't admit when their wrong. I bought a book last year by Ben Shapiro, called "The Porn Generation" You might wonder why I bought it. Well, I am a christian, and a conservative who believes in strong family values. If you look at my photos on my profile page. you will come across a photo of my grandchildren. If you do. Please take a good look into their eyes. you can see they are filled with love. I have three girls. Women now and a son who is the oldest. I have a deep respect for women. My parents made sure I did. It was important to them that I learned to respect women and why. My dad told me one day. Don't ever hit your sisters. I asked why and he knocked me off me feet. He said, "Because, you'll get worst than that if you do!! Well, I don't suggest you do that to your son. But it made me remember. You don't hit women. My mom and dad never used a crass word in front of us. It was ,in my mind a way of respect. I loved them for that. I may be very Victorian in thinking. I well imagine some people are thinking that right now. In my time (oh, there he goes again) Not even the biggest drunk in town would say a four letter word in front of any woman. They would have been knocked off the bar-stool. As they should. Bad langue was never allowed in front of my kids as they grew up. What women say to each other is their business. What mem say is likewise. But in mixed company. it does not belong. Some may bethinking it does not belong either way and I could not argue with that thought. A person should, in my opinion, come to an age of discernment. Just as a person should be able to mature in the Word. .
But, that's not why I started this and I am digressing. In Mr Shapiro's book which I can not suggest enough you get a copy. there are explicit lyrics in it. But it is for a purpose. freedom of speech is very important to me. But nowhere in the Constitution is it said, freedom of expression. that is how they get a way with it. Another example of polluting words with context. I also just bought a book from a guy by the name of Glenn Beck. He is a dear man and I watch his program every evening on CNN. a very religious man and a smart thinker. But ,he suggest to turn of the TV. A very good idea. I never let my kids watch even to programing that was on when they were growing. As soon as there was something that was getting "adult" the television was either changed station. Or certainly shut off. We had plenty of board games and I loved playing them. I wish I could count how many times I played Shutes and Latters. Or watched "The Littlest Mermaid" But , I never got tiered of being with my children. in this day and time the perves will put a comercial on in the middle of a good respectful program. So it's a horrible delima. I do believe, and you may not yourself. The best way is to observe the programing yourself when the kids are some where else and write down all the filth that you see. Next, Get a letter off to the FCC at "Enforcement bureau, Investigations and Hearings Division 445 12th Street, SW Washington, D.C. 20554 e-mail fccinfo@fcc.gov Telephone 1888-CALL_FCC (1-888-225-5322) or 1-TELL-FCC (1-888-835-5322) The FCC requires written complaints from viewers in order to invoke it's powers. they can't control the cable programing at this time and that's where you Congressman or Senator comes in. I write the President at times and was told that a fax works better than anything in getting attention. So, I fax him. i know you may not like watching these programs. Especially you ladies. But, you have to break some eggs to make an omelet. that, of course is up to you. If you would like to know what it is doing to this country. Look around you. young people are very easily impressed and want to fit in. that's how I got started smoking and it took me almost twenty years to break the habit. I suggest both these books. I payed $27.95 for "Porn Generation, and I believe Glenn's new book "An Inconvenient Book" was $26.00 dollars well spent. if this does not explain why I think porn should be baned then send a comment and I'll go deeper into what it is actually doing to not just children. But adults also. I feel. "Out of Sight, Out Of Mind" is the best solution. |

Thank you Doyle for the star as well as voice_in_d.. I have edited the original so as not ot hurt the tender feelings of some of the people who call them selves men but can't take the truth about themselves. This b;og has been up for over twelve hours and all that have read it are 27 people as I write this and TWO MEN who gave it stars. this IS a sad country! |

Thank you for the FCC info.
I agree that board games with the children are better than using tv as a babysitter. It gives the children something constructive to do and doing it with a parent or parents--it helps "bond" their relationship with them. However, as most of us know, a lot of parents do not feel they have the time to play, after getting home from work (both parents working--many times these days). I can certainly understand their frustration and being tired--since there is much work left to do every day after they get off the job away from home. Also, many parents probably don't think some of the trash their children can be exposed to is available during "family viewing" hours. They just simply don't know.
Of course, you do have some parents that just don't bother with it (watching the programs their children watch)--or God forbid--approve of it. We've gradually become desensitized to a lot and our acceptance of things as being normal is changing.
I am concerned with "rights", too. However, it really doesn't make sense that "trash" is protected, vulgar, degrading artwork associated with religious things are protected--but the right to speak of, or otherwise bring the view of those who believe in the Savior--is strictly forbidden--more and more. This does concern me.
From my previous blogs, I think you and anyone who reads this blog knows my feelings about this subject. However, I did want to thank you that as a man, you were courageous enough to give an honest opinion about this topic. Porn is pure filth, exploits the women, men, and children "used" for this entertainment. The saddest part is that it takes more and more to "enjoy" it and it's very, very addictive as told over many blogs on MyChurch. Unfortunately, porn is becoming the accepted "normal" it seems.

Thank you for the message. I am a little more in a better spirit knowing at least the count is a little higher at this time. Yet, as important as it is. One has to wonder how a Christian could pass up a possible cure for a disease that is hurting our nation and the world as it is. It makes you loose faith in your fellow man! God bless!! |
