I ran across an autographed press photo of Ginny Owens tonight as I was pulling a few of my snapshots from my archives. I have a bundle autographed muscial artists press photos from the years I spent working as a deejay. I plan to frame and display some of my favorites on the walls in the new television studio waiting area. Ginny is a super sweet woman who is absolutely gorgeous and absolutely BLIND. Her blindness must give her a heightened musical ability because she has some really great tunes.
Ginny released a song a few years ago that I must have passed over somehow. I listened to it tonight and it really fit with how I feel. Yes I said feel. It seems these days we are taught not to base anything on our feelings in many Charasmatic circles. For some I almost think they believe our feelings are a curse. Not so, God created us all to have feelings. When we are ruled by our feelings instead of God then there is a definite danger no doubt, but to me it's like anything else, if we eliminate their prominence in our lives then we're in danger of limiting the creative power of God in our life.
So with these feelings I'm having, I know there are others having the same inclination to look for something more during these somewhat strained times when gas is almost expensive as milk. I know there's something more - - in Jesus -- and I intend to live for Jesus through it all, because He hold the keys to "more". To quote an old worship song, "More of Jesus, less of me" If you want to hear the song that resonated from the heart of this gal as a teen in the 80's . . .listen to Mylon LeFevre "More of Jesus" on You Tube.
You can also hear Ginny's song when you visit my profile page or on the House of Prayer page. |
