Living on purpose
Today's Scripture "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith." (II Timothy 4:7)
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria While he was imprisoned in Rome prior to his execution, the Apostle Paul wrote to his young protégé, Timothy. Paul knew that his death was near, but he had lived his life with such passion and dedication to Jesus Christ that he had no regrets. Paul did not store up treasure here on earth, but fixed his eyes on heaven. He had given his all to further the cause of the Gospel, and he had used every ounce of talent and potential that God had given him. Since he had used his gifts to the fullest, he had no regrets. In fact, Paul was fulfilling his God-given destiny right up until his death.
We encourage and challenge you to live like Paul. Live a life of no regret. Find your purpose. Pursue it. Give it everything you've got. When you do that, God will lead you, guide you, and prosper everything you put your hand to. He'll pour out His favor and blessings, and you, too, will fulfill your divine destiny.
A Prayer for Today God, When I take my last breath, I want to come to You with no regrets. There is a purpose for my life, Lord. Help me to discover it, embrace it, and fulfill it for Your glory. In Jesus' Name – Amen.
WOW!!! I just love this guy and I get so much out of his devotionals everyday. I just had to share this one with you guys!!!
We get so busy trying to lay up our treasures here on earth that we are forgetting our purpose all together!!! Do you ever wonder if God has a divine purpose for your life other than what you can physically see? When Jesus came to allow himself to be used as a bridge to his father, he came so that not only could you obtain salvation but so that you can live your life free, happy, and abundantly in every way!! But if it was only about us, then God would have taken us on home to live with HIM abundantly forever. So that means there is a greater purpose for your life than just your salvation. God became a man so that by all and any means all MAY be saved. When Jesus gave up His spirit on the cross, he completed what His Father had sent Him here to do. He became our sin. Not only did He become our sin, but he arose again (the ultimate completion) to live eternally because death could not hold Him! He returned to the right hand of His Father. But He promised that He would send a comforter and a guide for us.
When you accept Christ, Christ then lives IN YOU through the Holy Spirit. That is your greater purpose!!!! Christ is now IN you and that is how others will find their way to that bridge to the Father!!! You've been set apart my friends to walk and love in the newness and the fullness of our Almighty God Himself!!!! Live your life with Integrity, Honesty and above all in the Love that Christ has given to YOU!!! Live with NO REGRETS!!! Meditate on the fact that you have living inside of you the greatest love of all! A love like no other!!! Let others see that love in you through the love of Jesus! That's a pretty awesome thing to know that you have the same kind of love living IN YOU as the one that walked this earth as a man to become all things to all mankind so that by any means ALL MAY BE SAVED!!!
Even if you were the only one, He still would have carried your cross up that dark street to that dark hill called Calvary and would have His Heavenly Father turn His face from Him because of YOUR sin! How can we not share that kind of love with everyone that we come into contact with? You can only do that by living a life that reflects Christ's love inside of you and living it for the glory of the Lord and not the glory of yourself.
Love as Christ Loves and Walk in His newness!
Love in Christ Jesus, ~~Trish~~
