I can't believe so little people are interested in helping our children and grandchildren. When a blog starts out with the message I left. you would think there would hundreds of readers from this web site. This is sad, at the very least.
from the book mentioned "The Porn Generation. In case there are one or two "Christians" here who are interested in helping rid of this stuff. The following is from page 184 of said book.
Non-governmental censorship of film: There's plenty we can do to re-infuse society with traditional morality, even aside from government action. All it takes is coordination to build public and financial pressure on propagators of moral relativism and social immorality. The Hays Code of the 1930's, 40's, 50's and early '60's was brought about through public pressure. Similar public pressure should be created through active and organized boycotts of movies we know to be obscene or indecent. The web site www.screenit.com does a wonderful job of evaluating the content of today's films.
It will cost $24.95 a year which is not bad for the information it supplies. Maybe one or two churches, if interested could monitor it for it's parishes
Reining in the Judiciary. Judge Bork has proposed "a constitutional amendment making any federal or state court decision subject to being overruled by a majority vote of each House of Congress." Mark Levin, in Men in Black, proposes amending the Constitution to "limit judges to fixed terms of office," or alternatively, "a constitutional amendment limiting the Supreme Court's judical review power by establishing a legislative veto over decisions-perhaps a two-thirds vote of both houses." Paul Carrington and Roger Cramton sugest appointing one justice or chief justice per term of Congress, allowing each appointee to serve approximately eighteen years, and creating a regular rotation of justices far more responsive to the American people. Each of those proposals would work wonders over the current system.
There is much in this book to be observed. I pray one or at least two people here buy it.

Thanks for the link. It probably could be useful since the "ratings" aren't always dependable.
I know of an instance recently (within the last month) that a parent carried three youngsters to a movie. According to the rating listed with the movie, (this parent was not aware of the link you include in your blog) it should have been fit for young people of there age to see it. The parent absolutely had to get the children out of there, apparently not too long after it started, since the language was so horrible. The parent said it was "supposedly" said in humerous ways--but unfit for the children to see period. I commend this parent for having the guts to get up in the movie and removing the children from it.
As you say, if the parents had known ahead of time (perhaps through the link you provide) they would have avoided going period. If the movies of this sort don't sell tickets, the movie people won't be so eager to make them.

Thanks Yaschild, You inspired me to do more research on this subject! Glenn Becks book claims that it is a $97 billion business word wide. Porn makes more money than Major league Baseball and the combined revenues of ABC, CBS, and NBC combined. It is affecting the marriages of millions. 37% of which are Pastors of churches around America that all are addicted also. So, it not only is affecting the average guy. But people you would think should set an example to many others. I'm at least proud of the two MEN who left stars here. I think that should start women on MyChurch thinking!! God bless!! |
