The Acid Test of Christianity

This test is designed for you to take and not to apply to others.  Whenever we hear somehting like this our immediate reaction is to think, oh this is not meant for me it is meant for someone else and I can definitely think who this applies to.  The Lord convicted me of that one day, as I turned around and looked to see a person's reaction when the Preacher made a comment.  Lord spoke to me the next day, and told me that "it was meant for me and that I should not take the speck out of my brother's eye when I have a big old log in my own."  This is meant for you, your eyes alone, please search your heart and exaimine yourself.  Are you ready to be honest with God?  Ok let's go!
                                                 2 ways to know you love Jesus     

You will love what Jesus loves.  

I can think of a few things off of the top of my bald head that the Bible says Jesus loves.
1.  Jesus loves people. (He loved Martha, Lazurus, the Rich Young Ruler, the Apostle John)
2.  Jesus loves the children. ("He said let the little one's come to me.")
3.  Jesus loves the church.   (Eph 5 The Bride of Christ & Rev 1:5)
John the Apostle asks an intriguing question:  How can we say that we love God whom we haven't seen, yet can not love our brother whom we have seen?  What did Jesus say?  "All men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another."
If you really love Jesus then you will do what He says to do.
14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Do you think Jesus was trying to communicate something there?  How can we say the we love the Lord and follow Him when we choose to ignore and disobey His commandments?  

This is not meant to demean anyone or to condemn anyone.  It is just a simple thought that the Lord has impressed upon me.  If we are Christians we need to love what Jesus loves and do what He says to do.

a big YES SIR! Because I love Him, I will keep His commandments.

Mat 22:37-40  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.Commandments 1-4

This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Commandment 5-10

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

We had a bible study 3 Wednesdays ago, and we did the African bible study

when it was my turn, I kept trying to answer ";we";, but kept getting corrected by the shepherd, he said to say  ";I";... I will tell you something, when ever you change the ";we"; to ";I"; in a study, it really hurts, I kept poking myself in the eye.  

It really makes me, examine where I am in the Lord, instead of saying we (impersonal) need to do this or that, it is I (personal) need todo this ot that

Gary:  It always hurts when we personal with God.  The Word is like a mirror not only does it show our beauty it also shows our flaws!  The old saying the "truth hurts" is never more true when the Scriptures convict us of sin.
