My father sent me an email the other day and mentioned that my grandmother was having a white blood cell problem again (35,000) and just had a bone marrow tap for biopsy done. I received an email from my sister today that my aunt had sent her and the test results have come back. She has been diagnosed with Leukemia. My aunt did say though that she is in good spirits about it and her faith is in God and not man. AMEN!
Also, we have been going through a lot here lately dealing with some repercussions from the disability/school system issue with Hunter (previous blogs as well). He has had some major emotional repercussions from recent events this year and it has begun to take a toll on his mental/physical well being. This morning on our way to school he started crying from extreme pains in his sides and lower back. I went directly to his pediatrician office and he was diagnosed with Encopresis. Too emotionally drained right now to go into details but is is serious bowel obstruction brought on by the psychological stressors he has endured recently. We have been having problems with this for about a month and a half now and I think his body is at that point where he has lost nearly all sensation that would normally alert him of a bowl movement. This is treatable since in his case it is a symptom to a more severe underling condition (psychological). We have started him on enemas and will be incorporating more fruits and fiber into his diet. Basically we are going to have to retrain his body and mind to have normal bowel movements since at this point he is not having any. Time for treatment can range from months to years depending on severity and psychological factors (so they say...but we know it is dependent entirely on God's will :) ) We have an appointment on the 15th at a behavioral center which I set about a week ago so this will be a huge help in this regimen and recovery.
