Well, back in October of 1994, I was into not so good stuff. I had a couple of friends who played in bands, and one day I went to see some bands play. There was this get together outside in a parking lot. I had not yet met my husband to be, until he came up to me and gave me his phone number and asked if I had a boyfriend. I told him that I did not have a boyfriend, but I was wondering to myself, who on earth are you. He had long hair and earrings and a nose ring. I was 21 yrs. old at the time and I would have to admit that he was a real cutie. OK, so I called him, ofcourse. I found out that he lived about 10 minutes away from me. One night my brothers were planning a party in our back yard, so I invited him. Well, finally after hours of waiting, he shows up. The rest of the night, all of us were up to no good, but that is what happens when you don't have Jesus in your life. We started dating and I thought I was living the life, you know, it could'nt get any better. I had this nice looking rock star. We would go to night clubs and he would play out all over the place. Then ofcourse, just like any other relationship, we started to have problems. I was very jealous, so we would get into fights, for nothing, over stupid stuff. We had broken up on several occasions. Then out of the blue, we were back together again, and I wanted to get married. Married!! that was the last thing on his mind, that he was not ready for. Well, the way I was back then, I kinda pushed the issue, we either get married or we were over. So finally he decided to take me out to buy a ring, that really made my day. The next step was to decide where we were going to get married, and to make a long story short, I'll just tell you that we started going to church with Paul's sister, Helen. One Sunday morning we went there and these people, I mean they danced around and sang. I was like man, all of this just to get married, there has to be a better way. I thought those people were crazy, dancing around and acting foolish. At the time Paul did not believe in Jesus, and he had a lot of questions, so his sister introduced us to the Pastor. To this day, Paul remembers sitting down with this Pastor and the Pastor said, "I bet you have a lot of questions, don't you." Paul, was like yes I do have alot of questions, and the Pastor said,"Paul, you know, I can not answer all of the questions that you have, but in time you will get the answers you need from Jesus, and that still sticks with Paul to this day. Well anyway, that Pastor had invited himself to our house one day, he knew we wanted to get married. He came over and just shared Jesus with us, but at the time we were not interested in Jesus, you know, we had the life, all we wanted was to just get married. Then, the Pastor invited us to his house, not really wanting to go, we went anyway, we figured this is what we have to do for now if we want to get married. So we go, and what do you know, he started talking about Jesus again, and I was like ok, maybe I will just listen to what he has to say about Jesus, because I was thinking back to when I was little and I would watch Billy Graham on tv with my grandmother, so I listened, and finally, the Pastor asked if we wanted to accept Jesus into our hearts, and we thought ok, why not, we figured it could'nt hurt any. So we did, Sept. 23, 1997, we got saved at the Pastors house. We did'nt really think much of it at the time, we both felt the same. The Pastor said that if we wanted him to marry us that we would have to attend a bible study and take marriage classes, so we did all of this just to get married. One night while we were at bible study, they were teaching about the holy spirit, and that was the night that Paul really felt something, when one of the people prayed over him that night, he has never been the same since, he still can't explain it to this day what happened, he just knows something happened. Then we stop doing all the drugs that we use to do and he stopped playing in a band,(he use to play like death metal stuff) and we started to learn more about Jesus, and then we were even baptized at the same time, and on Feb.22nd 1997 we got married and we now have 4 children and Paul teaches bible study at one of his sisters house. The Lord has really blessed us so much. God Bless Toni <>< |
