WITHOUT RIDDLES
Numbers 12 is a very heavy chapter in the Word. Miriam and Aaron begin to criticize Moses, it is a clear case of jealousy. Moses was quiet and humble man so God comes to his defense. God tells them He has a very special connection with Moses. "I speak to him intimately, in person, in plain talk without riddles: he ponders the very form of God." -The Message Numbers 12:7 Why did God have this unique relationship with Moses? I believe Moses had learned the secret of worship. He reflected the glory of God back to Him. The more God revealed His glory the more Moses reflected it back to God, he was careful not take the glory for himself. We saw this literally played out when the face of Moses shone when he came down from the mountain. It is the glory of God to show mercy, love and grace. So what does Moses do? He prays for his critics. He was reflecting the glory of God back to Him. 12:13 And Moses cried unto Jehovah, saying, Heal her, O God, I beseech thee. Do I want that unique fellowship with God, do you want God to speak to you without riddles? Reflect His glory back, don't keep it. Not unto us O Lord, Not unto us O Lord be the honor and the glory. |
