| In the morning there is Joy! |

Good Morning my Brothers and Sisters,
Tears get shed for so many reasons. When we are hurt, angry, confused, tired, frustrated, in pain, scared or just plain defeated, we weep. There are tears of joy, but that's another blog. There are those of us who cry out, while others cry in solitude. And while it can often be cathartic once its over, the process of getting the tears out can often be as painful as the cause. I have watched my daughter get so frustrated and cry so hard that I have to teach her how to breath again before I can understand what grand crime against humanity her younger sister has committed. :-) While you are crying GOD is constructing your Joy.
One of my favorite old Gospel lines is "While you're tryin' to figure it out........He's already worked it out!" Tears come while we're trying to figure our problems out. The more we apply our own hand to it, the harder the tears flow. It's as if our surrender to GOD is a faucet. The more securely we turn to the right, the drier the tear ducts are. One turn to the left and there is water everywhere. Water on our faces. Water on our words. Water seen by others can move them to grab their faucet and cry too. But the good new is, our GOD does not wait for us to stop crying before he works it out. Truth be told it was worked out before you even knew there was a problem. If the problem is solved by the time I see it, what use are my tears? This is why and how we can count it all Joy.
When Christ was sleep in the bottom of the boat and the storm was raging, I'm sure the panic of the disciples was legit in their minds. There were no Carnival cruiseliner then, not even boats made of double hulled steel. Just a wooden skiff that did not look like it was going to make it. They also did not have 2000 years of examples to depend on. Just a few miracles over the previous few months that some were still trying to figure out. So their panic during the storm was real. Some may even say justified. But what did Christ say? "Why are yall worried about this?!?! I got you!" Peace be still. They learned that night what I am still learning. The storm will be calmed and it's not mine to do.
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy will come. When is up to you. God makes it available immediately.
Peace, Bhek |
