| Parable of the sower |
|
| |
We are told to sow, we scatter the seeds of faith, notice He does not say the farmer planted the seeds, just that he scattered the seeds. Some hear the Word, become a Christian, but don't understand the message of repentance (turning from sin), the enemy steals the seeds planted and this one goes back into the world. Some hear the Word, become a Christian, are growing in faith, but when persecution comes, he is offended and stumbles back into sin. Some hear the Word, become a Christian, grows in the Lord, but riches, and worldly possessions strangle him, and becomes unfruitful, unfit for the Kingdom of God. And then some read the Word, become a Christian, grow in the Lord, and live according to His commandments to love the Lord, and to love his neighbors. He is fruitful in the Kingdom, bringing other souls into the Kingdom. |

There is so much in that parable that perhaps I should blog on it myself. The important thing is to notice that the seed (the Word) has life and it brings life if given a chance. I like to call this the parable of the soils because depending on where the seed landed depended on what happened to the seed. The seed provided i's function each time but the soil determined it's fruitfulness. The application here is your heart. Is your heart fertile? I you not only ready to receive the word of God, but are you able to let it take root and bring forth fruit. There are many that will receive it, but it does not last because the heart has issues that hinder the Word's effect.
Prepare your heart as you would a garden and you will see the Power of the Word flourish in your life! Anyway just a thought. Keep up the good work! |

please blog away, when you get it done, give me a shout, would like to get another perspective... also, remember "why" Christ spoke in parables, so that not all would understand He purposly spoke in parables to keep some of them from understanding |

| We are the good seed, those of us who know the LORD. We will reproduce some 30 some 60 some 100 fold after our own kind, more Christ ones. |

not so, Wesley... notice the words Christ uses... they received the seeds, but were withered up, or chocked out, or the enemy snatched the seeds away... that would mean, they became Christians, but were lured away... apostatised.. let the world and its cares rules over them.. they became dead wood, not producing fruits... and no longer worthy by the Kingdom of God. |
