| My Mad Rug |

OK another lesson from the babes! We have this thing at the daycare called the mad rug...the kids know that if they're angry (for what ever reason) there is this rug they sit on ,with or without help -=) where they can: -get really mad -get really loud -get all the "mad" out -get it done, ......then -get a hug and -get back to playing Today, two of our littler ones (pre-verbals) ran to the rug and pretended to be angry. They were kicking and yelling and signing "angry" and then they'd look at each other and laugh uncontrollably. So I got in on the act, and sat down with them, kicked my feet, shook my fists, and yelled right along. Every one of the other 9 kids came over and watched with their jaws hanging down... Poor Kelly came down the stairs and wondered what in the world was happening... It was all very fun, but it got me to thinking..I wish I had a "mad rug". And then it hit me...I DO! I can run to God (and have done so on many occasions) with my angry fits, my arguing, my "it's not Fair" ing...and He does the same for me as we do for our kids...He just calmly waits until I get my "mad" out, and then blesses me with an "It's all right, I'm still in control" hug. What a wonderful God!!!!!! |
