REMEMBER YOUR GOD 32:48 And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying, 32:49Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, [unto] mount Nebo, which [is] in the land of Moab, that [is] over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession: 32:50And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people: 32:51Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel. 32:52 Yet thou shalt see the land before [thee]; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.
34:1And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that [is] over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan, 34:2 And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea, 34:3And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar. 34:4And the LORD said unto him, This [is] the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see [it] with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither. 34:5So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. 34:6And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day. 34:7 And Moses [was] an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
Today's blog was placed on my heart by the Holy Spirit yesterday evening during Bible Study. God placed it on my heart about how we must not forget who He is and the things that He has done for us. Let us take this scripture to a different level.
Imagine standing on top of a mountain and overlooking the promise of God. The sight is so breathtaking and overwhelming that there are no words to describe it. If there were words to explain the glorious view that you are observing, it would only be between you and God, because this will be your last sight and you will not have time to tell anyone about it. Imagine the pain within your heart knowing that you will not enter into the promised land that God had set aside for your people because you had sinned against the God who walked by you.
Moses saw the glory and the power of God like no other man. He stood on Holy ground and God spoke to him. He saw God perform miracles that would leave one speechless. God even chose to walk by Him, allowing Moses to experience the presence of God. Yet something happened and Moses did not sanctified God in the midst of the children of Israel. Why this happen, I do not know, but what scripture tells me is that Moses had to face the consequences of his trespasses. However, I believe that even though Moses did not enter into the promise, he smiled when he died. Why do I say this? Because I can only imagine a 120 year old man with good vision and strength in his step had to be feeling good and rejoicing because God had kept him all of these years. I believe that he was rejoicing, despite of the longing to go into the promised land, for the people who would enter in. For he knew that his time had come to an end. That is why I believe that he smiled...because he remembered God.
Today, I want to bring to your remembrance the words that God have spoken through out time to mankind. His promises to never leave us or forsake us. Promises of healing and deliverance. Promises that it is through faith not through works that we are saved. Faith in the power of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Faith in His Word. Faith that even though we do not yet see the promise that we can obtain a good report (see Hebrews chapter 11). Faith. Without it one can not please God.
My friends, as I reflect upon what has been written in this report, I feel the Holy Spirit wanting me to share with you that the reason why He has me sending these praise reports each day is so that we do not forget what God has done or said. That is also the reason that we have Bible study on Wednesday evenings and why we have Sunday School on Sunday mornings. To be reminded of His promises to mankind.
Remember My promises, have faith and believe even though you do not see.
Remember your transgressions, repent, turn from your wicked ways, lest you find yourself wandering in the wilderness and denied the promise of God.
We are on this journey from good to great. From the chains of slavery to sin to the promises of life eternally through Christ. Let us continually remember and praise God for who He is, what He is doing, and what He has promised. Be encouraged today and find yourself smiling and rejoicing at His greatness.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Daniel Crouch
Father,
I praise You now for You are an awesome God. Your words are powerful and true that speak of a love so powerful. A love for Your creation. A love everlasting. I praise You now because You have not left us nor forsaken us. Even though men and women on this earth continually to denounce You, You still love them and have set a remnant of people on this land to share this love. May your people be empowered with boldness from the Holy Spirit to share this love without fear of man. So that they do not forget what You have spoken and promised to them. So that they can sanctify You in the midst of the people. You are an Holy God. Be glorified this day.
