You can do it Lara! I promise! You will love food even more when you're through!

Hi Valarie and Cheryl...glad you stopped by.....the information I have is in a Word file that I can email. You'll either have to email me so I can reply or send me a message containing your email address. I cannot attach a file here on MyChurch. At least I don't think I can.

The links up above will provide quite a bit of info. I'll be glad to help any way I can.

I'm with Lara, I love food...I love to go out to eat...one question I have though, I have several medications that I take that say not to take on an empty stomach.  Does this provide enough to consider your stomach not empty?  lol

I think so Deb.....I'll check the document again to see if they mention that....but I would imagine you would be fine. This diet can be used for up to 40 days and the author claims that you will not suffer any lack of nutrition. Do I have your email address already?

I was thinking that some bible study and prayer is in definite order during this fast.

10 Days. How about we study the first 10 chapters of Romans. One chapter per day? Sounds like a plan to me.....

I'm good with that one Michael. It will be good to do something to stay focused! Thank you for your encouragement!

wow, I just came off of a 12 day one (straight, nothing but lots of water)... It is very cleansing... It really gets your mind and heart in line with the Lord!
MichaelATL43
April 23, 2008 at 9:18am
That's awesome Gary!

Congrats for going straight with nothing but water. It's amazing the way we can hear God's voice so much stronger when we deny the flesh.

I have several things I will be praying about and seeking answers to during this time.

Perhaps next round you would care to try this cleanse.

Well friends, tonight is the last night of normal intake of food for a while for myself and a few others. I have all of my ingredients ready and have also been sent several prayer requests. If you have chosen to participate, then know that my prayers and thoughts are with you. Of course they are with you even if you are not participating, but if you are not, please keep us lifted up in prayer as well.

Father, we lift this time up to you my Lord. We want to be clean an pure in our physical bodies just as your blood has made us clean and pure in our spirits. We thank you Lord for your love, grace, and mercy. We honor you Father. We pray that during this fast our minds would become opened up even more to hear what the spirit of your Word is saying to us. We want to be free from the hindrances that keep us from fulfilling your plan for our lives. We lift up each and every prayer before you Lord. We know that you hear us when we pray and we thank you. You are a great God. We thank you for strength and we thank you for your spirit that will sustain us through this fast. We pray these things in the authority of the name of Jesus. Amen!

Be strong brethren! I love you!

Valarie
April 27, 2008 at 8:12am
Hey Michael,
Kinda struggling on my end here.....wasn't taking into account the whole "caffiene withdrawl" stage that I would no doubt go through. I am a coffee drinker. I have it every morning and I usually will drink one or two sodas a day as well. Saturday evening I started in with a major headache. I get migraines anyway....so this one was a doosey! Just pray for me. I am still drinking my lemonade and trying really hard to stay focused...But I will be honest here....MY HEAD HURTS!!!!  Pray for me please!
Should have weaned myself from the caffiene before...just didn't think about it. Might be something note for future fasters.
MichaelATL43
April 27, 2008 at 9:10am

Hi Val,

I am so sorry you are experiencing headaches. I never went through that stage. Before my last fast I was a heavy coffee drinker too, but since then it's rare for me to even drink one cup.

I am praying for you Val. I encourage you too keep pressing on. The benefits far out weigh the sacrifice.

Have you been drinking the herbal tea?

*****IMPORTANT NOTE*******

For those of you that are fasting, I encourage you to stick through with the entire ten days. I know it's getting a little challenging at this stage but the realize that the third day is usually the most difficult. After another day or two and the benefits of the lemonade will begin to have a greater effect and the hunger pains will subside.

But one very important point I want to make is that the way you break the fast.

The documentation describes this in pretty good detail. And it's extremely important. You cannot just jump right back into eating solid food after several days without. Your digestive system is on vacation right now and it needs to be put back to work slowly.

On the day you decide to break fast, which hopefully isn't for 7 more days, you need to start just drinking some fresh squeezed orange juice. A couple of glasses the first day. The second can be raw, fresh vegetables, or may a light salad. Normally by the third day your system will be ready for your regular diet again. I'll post more about this later, I just wanted to make certain that you were aware of this.

Not to scare anyone, but I heard a story recently about a kid who got saved and was on fire for the Lord. He heard about fasting and wanted to do a 40 day fast. He did in fact fast for 40 days on nothing but water. Then he broke the fast with a huge steak dinner and it killed him. His body just could not handle all that meat after 40 days with nothing. Please use caution when you decide it's time to start eating again.

Love you all,
Michael

Praise God! The headache is gone, I am starting to feel much better. I slept good and I feel some energy coming back to my body. My family and friends all still think I'm nuts...explaining this has been quite fun...but they will be able to see a walking testimony of what this can and WILL do. That is my prayer!
Praying for you all!

PS..thanks for that note at the bottom there Michael....that would really put a whole damper on the thing wouldn't it? Gonna make sure we don't do that!!!

Friends I wanted to say that I realize I have been joking around a lot today, posting silly pictures and such, but the truth is that I am taking this fast and these prayer requests very serious. The prayers that are listed on this page are of extreme importance and they are not to be taken lightly.

Please join with me as we passionately pray for our brothers and sisters!

Thank you Michael! I am still praying and reading! I will say that YES, it is doing it's job....I am being rid of the toxins in my body....that is why, in my opinion, I feel the way I do. Just can't continue. So...anyone else reading this....the cleanse DOES WORK. I can tell the changes....my body just wasn't ready for it.
It's fighting back!
Love you all!

Val,

Based upon the difficulties you were having, I am glad that you have decided to break the fast. You should really give yourself a pat on the back. For never having fasted before, you did great! I am so proud of you. Thank you for your continued support with the prayer chain. I am also glad to hear you keeping up with Romans. Romans Rocks!

Today is day 6 Praise God!

For those of you who are still on this fast, I encourage you to keep pressing in. Jesus is the bread of life and he will sustain you.

Some of you have also been reading in Romans. Today is Chapter 6 day! Yeah! The 6th. chapter of Romans is extremely powerful.

Anyway, that's all I had to say.

Have an awesome day!

Praise The Living God!

Time to break fast, yeah!

I started my day with a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. It was the best orange juice I have ever had!

Thank you to all who participated in this cleanse along with me. I pray that you are doing well and ready to begin eating healthy and feeling good.

One thing this fast does for me is give me a greater appreciation for the things of God. We so often take for granted the everyday things like food. Absence makes the heart grow finder, right? Well, I can say that I am grateful today for oranges. Thank you Lord for providing our daily bread!

What a great God we serve!
