I have struggled with weight my entire adulthood and beyond. I've tried everything under the sun!!! Finally...i developed the discipline to do something totally against the norm. I cut my carbs. No rice...bread...potatoes...sweets...sodas...basically everything I like....lol.
The first few days were the hardest. I wasn't hungry...but i wasn't satisfied. I struggled the hardest the first week. The second week was a little more doable. The cravings weren't quite non-existent...but weren't nearly as bad as they were during the first week. Now 2 months later...I am 30lbs lighter. Thank you Jesus!!
The secret is simple..
Hard work, exercise and discipline. Yep..there's no way around it folks! :-)
For once in my life I feel like i have self-control. Not as it relates to eating better and exercise...but because it was such a struggle for me (that i've now overcome), the self-control that i've developed during this time has exteneded to every other area in my life. I cook better, not just for me, but for my family....i exercise nearly daily...I FINALLY DRINK WATER (where before i could go literal WEEKS without drinking a drop :-/ ) I'm finally taking care of me and I feel GREAT.
They say doing something for 2 weeks creates habit. Now eating healthier and exercising is not just about weightloss, but a way of life.
I challenge and encourge any of you that have had similar issues with weightloss to push yourselves. Find what works for you and most importantly commit to it. It's not half as bad as it seems. Develop a routine and before you know it, it'll be away of life.
