"Well, Hi! My FRIENDS are here! And we are going to have--FUN!!!! That's right, we always have fun with Miss Patty Cake! We're going to use our hands to clap, our hearts to love, and our voices to SING AND SING AND SING as we give praise to God...because every day is a Patty Cake Praise day!"
Man, I'm even starting to sound like her! I am SO excited about Miss Patty Cake coming! She'll be here in just a couple of weeks for a concert on Rose Show weekend at Paradise Park, and I'm DELIGHTED that she'll be "available" to minister in a neighborhood so close to many disadvantaged children and families who may not ever set foot in a church otherwise!
Yes, they can be loud! Yes, most of them have way more energy than I do! Yes, most of them require that I stop thinking about my stinkin' self and give them my full attention when I'm in their presence! Yes, they require much training! Yes, they cost money! Yes, they give some of the most genuine, "just because I love you" hugs in the whole wide world! Yes, they are picky eaters at times! Yes, they make messes--big ones! Yes, they are a precious gift from God! Yes, they are completely dependent on their parents, and the very young ones will gladly and unashamedly let us know it! Yes, OH YES, they DO grow up WAY too fast! Yes, they are a MIGHTY force in God's Kingdom! Why do I get SO crazy-excited about ministry to young kids? Well, mainly 'cause Jesus gets excited about little kids...He even says we must become like them in order to enter His Kingdom! WOW!
So, YES!!! I'm excited about Miss Patty Cake coming, because she is a woman DRIVEN by the Holy Spirit to communicate with children (especially ages 1-5) the mighty wonders of our God in a way that "sticks" with them, and she will passionately tell each of them these very important words: "Nobody loves you like God, and THAT's the truth!" She also has a great passion to share with parents and to equip them to pour God's Truth into their little ones at home, where it matters the most.
Now, about the Miss Patty Cake events in Thomasville...we could still use a little bit of funding, so if God leads you to give, please contact me to find out how you can contribute. We still, ideally, could use about $800 more, and we are believing God to supply it. If you are one of the ways God wants to supply it, please get in touch with me soon!
Beyond funding, we could use help with the following stuff, so if you're interested in ministering to a whole bunch of kids (or possibly to a road-weary children's minister and her road manager) in one of the following ways, please pick a job and contact me to let me know you want to help with it. The schedule of events is as follows: Friday (April 25), approx. 1 p.m.--MPC arrives from Dothan in time for lunch and set-up/overview for all the many details of the weekend. Approx. 7 p.m., the Rose Parade begins. MPC will be on a float. Saturday (April 26), 10:30 a.m.--MPC will do a live concert at Paradise Park (severe weather "plan B" is to have the concert at Celebration Church)...immediately following concert, MPC will have a "meet & greet time" with children at RayAnn's Christian Bookstore. All MPC merchandise will be available for sale at the concert venue. MPC DVD's will be for sale inside the store at RayAnn's as well, and all other MPC merchandise will also be for sale at tables on the sidewalk in front of RayAnn's. Now, here are the jobs:
PRAYING FOR FAVOR AND PEACE OVER ALL THE DETAILS OF THE EVENTS (WEATHER, FINANCES, SAFETY, HEALTH, ATTENDANCE, PUBLICITY, COMMUNICATION, THAT THE TRAIN WON'T COME DOWN THE TRACKS BY PARADISE PARK DURING THE CONCERT) Assisting with set-up/clean up of dressing rooms for Friday and Saturday Assisting with sale of MPC merchandise, both at the park and at RayAnn's Assisting with float construction Assisting with publicity (taking posters to local businesses) Assisting with children (safety, etc.) during the Rose Parade Assisting with keeping children off the stage area during the concert Assisting with set-uptear down of sound and backdrop for concert on Saturday Assisting with finding sponsors Catering either lunch or dinner on Friday (lunch will be for a group of about 15)
Blessings to you all who are SO willing to "Let the little children come...!" |

| If you still need posters passed out, I think I can do that for you! As long as they are printed and ready ( we do not have a printer yet), the kids and I can make deliveries! |

Just thinking about what you said on Sunday and I've had more time to think about it. Jayme for sure will be working at Old Mexico, KC is also working and so I need to find something for Ray so I can help out that day. Let me know if you have any ideas for Ray. |
