I just launched the MyChurch site for Solomon's Porch in Hubbard, Oregon, a dynamic fellowship that my family and I have joined ourselves to since last summer. Since we live in North Portland, near to the Columbia River, and the building (hey! notice I did not say 'church') is halfway to Salem, it is quite a long drive for us, but we gladly make it several times per week.
The text below is the welcome message for the site. I will invite other Solomon Porch people (of longer standing than me) to update it and make it just right, perhaps al dente? As the moderator pro temp of this online church site, my goal is to involve as many actual Solomon's Porch people as possible in a short time. My belief is that as we participate with the Holy Spirit in His works in our hearts and around us, and as we inform ourselves about what He is doing in the lives of others and in other fellowships and geographical areas, we make it possible (easier) to enter more fully into God's calling on our lives. Sure we can achieve some of His calling for us without knowing all this, but in my experience, it makes life so much more rich and enjoyable. Would you agree?
I feel that MyChurch.org is the best site in the world for a church fellowship to create an online presence for fellowship, outreach, education, dissemination, etc. Muchas thanks to Carebear (Carol Suh) and the MyChurch team for providing us such a wonderful online opportunity and tools.
Welcome to Solomon's Porch on MyChurch.org. If you are familiar with other social networking websites such as myspace, facebook, classmates, etc., then you will find MyChurch easy to navigate. If not, please take some time to explore the breadth and depth of this site. There are lots of great blogs, articles and videos to explore (click 'Explore' on the bar above). Create a personal profile, make friends, post a prayer need, start a discussion, find out what is happening across the Church in the USA. There is much of value to be discovered here.
At Solomon's Porch, we are pressing hard into God to see Him move in and through us with signs and wonders, with a generous outpouring of His grace, love and healing. He is shaping us into His image by drawing us into repentance, humbling us through His Word---written, spoken and prophetic---and through meaningful relationships, iron sharpening iron. The most important relationship we have is with God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He deserves the very best from us in worship, adoration, love, service and testimony. We aim to give just that.
In every meeting, we expect to meet God and we expect the miraculous, because He is more than able. This means: physical/medical healings, marriages and relationships restored, needs met, fears quelled, tears turned to joy, pride humbled, true spiritual worship. Some features of our meetings include: night-long worship, prayer, exhortation and ministry (Friday night); very free expression not limited to dancing, flags, prostration, etc.; prophetic words for encouragement and guidance; people, including children and youth, praying fervently for you; guest apostles, prophets and evangelists; the occasional "fire tunnel."
Please visit our website http://www.solomons-porch.org/, beautifully designed by our humble yet talented pastor Randy Conger (contact him if you would like him to design your website). He wrote a blog (see Randy's Blog) that is a must-read. This Solomon's Porch MyChurch site is a complement to our main website and meant to foster ongoing communication within the Solomon's Porch family and promote awareness of what is going on in the wider Body of Christ.
This is not just another website to take up your precious time. May your time here be fruitful and lead you to something or someone that only God could orchestrate!
God bless you, Jim Au Moderator pro temp |
