10 Biblical Guidelines For Your Prayer Life 5 positive commands and 5 negative commands
1. Do Pray With Faith
1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him. 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 1:7 For that person must not suppose that a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways, will receive anything from the Lord. 1:8 (Pray with confidence)
5:14 And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: (Pray with Expectation)
11:6 And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing `unto him'; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and `that' he is a rewarder of them that seek after him. 2. Do Pray with Fervencey

5. Pray for Forgiveness
6:12 And forgive us our debts, As we also have forgiven our debtors;
1. Do Not Pray with Doubt. James 1:5-8 (see above #1.)
2. Do Not Pray For Public Acknowlegement.
6:5 And when ye pray, ye shall not be as the hypocrites: for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward. 3. Do Not Pray Irreverently or With Vain Repetition.
6:7 "And in praying do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 6:8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 4. Do Not Pray Selfishly
