Hey Jade, goodmorning!

Many scholars have debated this question for centuries, I am so glad you asked this.  In God's word several items are listed as an abomination to God.  Such as blasphemy of God's name, homosexuality. With this also is the love of Jesus and His blood that He shed for us on the cross.  I have sinned and taken the name of the Lord in vain in my youth, but did I lose my salvation...no...was I proud of this.....NO.  After I asked for forgiveness and had a true heart change I know I did not lose my salvation.  God says His sheep/people will hear His voice....I can still hear Him speak to me...that still quiet strong voice that is inside of me that also sounds like a rushing tidal wave that is enclosed in the peace that surpasses all understanding.  This topic may be debated until Jesus returns, but I know I am His child...and I don't want to sin against Him, I love Him.

Yes Jade...I agree with Cheryl...on all she says. My husband and I were talking with our mentor pastor the other night...and we were in the middle of the same sort of subject. My mentor pastor said that the ONLY un pardonable sin is  "unbelief".
I agree, there will be many debates up until the end of time. I too am so glad to know that he calls me His child and I call Him My Daddy!

The only unforgiveable sin is blaspheming the Holy Spirit or rejection of the Spirit of God because it is His Spirit that draws all men to Himself through CHRIST.  Everything else can and will be forgiven for those that ask and turn away from (do an about face, go the other direction) sin.  Forgiveness is not always easy.  Sometimes we have to forgive others, sometimes we have to forgive ourselves.  We have to make a decision to move forward.

"As children bring their broken toy with tears for us to mend, I brought my broken dreams to God because He is my friend.  But then instead of leaving Him in peace to work alone, I hung around and tried to help with ways that were my own.  At last I snatched them back and cried, "How can you be so slow?"  "My child", He said, "What could I do....you never did let go.""

Read Ps 37:3-5, focus on the words "trust, delight & commit" they are keys.   God is not intimidated by nor stumped by our situations or circumstances.

You are an overcomer, the head and not the tail, above and not beneath.

Plumbline..you are right...I was forgetting a huge part of the conversation we had. My husband just reminded me of it. In that we were talking about believers turning their back...knowing full well their teachings and then turning their back and choosing to not believe. I guess that is in some way like rejecting the Holy Spirit. I looked up several scriptures that talked about what you stated. Luke 12:10, Mark 3:29, Matthew 12: 31-32 They all confirm what you were saying.
This is another one of those blonde days for me...forgive me Jade if I lead you astray.

Sometimes, forgiveness is difficult, but it creates a freedom in your heart to be free of the distractions that unforgiveness brings such as bitterness and anger...they are no fun.  Forgiveness is not a confession of being wrong, so when you forgive, you are not saying I'm sorry, you are right.  You are saying I forgive you because you know it is what God asks.  He wants you to let go of it and give it to Him.  You do not have to forgive someone in person, just in your heart.  You forgive, you let go, you are free to focus on the positive things in life and let God handle the wrongs against  you.  I feel freedom in knowing that I have forgiven others who were criminally wrong, I feel I am better than them because I have God on my side and I pray that some day, they will join me in faith and never hurt anyone ever again.  The pain of unforgiveness can be more painful that the actual thing you are trying to get past.  God has freed me of so many hurts thanks to my turning it over to him and forgiving the one who hurt me so much.  Some day they will know I have forgiven them, but now, God knows and that is good enough for me.

The following is a question and then answer to that question/email that I sent someone regarding this blog.

"Hello, your reponce to the blog has sparked both questions and comments. I hope you don't mind me asking/sharing what this has sparked.

I am not rejecting the holy spirit or God in anyway, I am simply saying. At this point I am not able to fogive some acts against a peron. But I am learning to try and give it to God understanding that it is not my place to forgive some acts but rather the Lords. What confuses me is the Biblical verse that is made reference to in the blog. I have been told by several people that sometimes there are unforgivable sins, and we as humans need to learn to accept that and simply give it over to the lord and forgive our selves for once being apart of that sinful act.

Jade"

"First of all I want to say that I like and appreciate your boldness. Most folks would not ask what someone meant by what they said or wrote. They would take an offense and never speak of it again. I do not mind your asking....it's how we learn (both the asker and the askee).

I was not saying that a rejection of the Holy Spirit had taken place, I was simply answering a question in regards to unforgiveable sins. The only unforgiveable sin (from what I see in the Word) is rejecting the Holy Spirt as it is He (the Spirit of God) that draws us to Him through CHRIST and if we reject this then how can we come to the knowledge of the saving grace of CHRIST Jesus.

I personally have never seen anything in the Word that says that some sins or acts against us can not or should not be forgiven. If CHRIST Himself ask for us to be forgiven after enduring and being hung on the cross and since our Father God can forgive us for what we did to His only begotten Son then I do not believe that there is anything that can be done to us that can not be forgiven. That is not to say that the actual forgiveness will be easy or that maybe there will not be a process, but it can be done through CHRIST and the Spirit of God.

I am amazed at the many stories I have heard and read of people having sons or daughters murdered and then forgiving those that murdered their sons & daughters and accepting them (the one that sinned by killing their loved one) as a son or daughter. Even stories of those being neglected or abused forgiving their abusers. Forgiveness is an amazing thing.

I myself had and wanted to forgive a step father for abuse (physical beatings - mental abuse) I suffered while growing up. I did and I am free! You see, I chose to not let those moments that I did not have control over or that I could not change be what defines me. I did not ask for the mental or physical abuse it was not my fault...it was an act of the enemy (by a person in my life whom I trusted) that was meant to destroy me.

Forgiveness is so critical in our salvation walk because our Daddy (GOD) and our Elder Brother (CHRIST) walked in forgiveness for us. The forgiveness CHRIST displayed was done in the flesh through the power of the Holy Spirit, which is another reason the blaspheming of the Spirit of God can not be forgiven in this world or the one to come according to scripture.

I hope this helps......I know our testimonies and struggles help others that may be going through these things overcome."

This is something that I am still trying to work though and understand. I appreciate everyones comments and support.
