Ecclesiastes Ch. 8
Good morning MyChurch family! We are learning about obedience today so let's begin by being obedient and glorifying our Father in prayer.
Prayer: Father, wow, we come before you again and stand amazed at who you are. Simply if you had not done anything for us, you deserve all honor, praise and glory. Father, come and show us what you want us to learn today, let your Holy Spirit lead us. In Jesus name, Amen.
Ch 8:1 How wonderful to be wise, to be able to analyze and interpret things. Wisdom lights up a person's face, softening its hardness".
I really like that verse. In it you can see many many aspects of God. God gives wisdom so one can not worry and have a down-trodden expression on their face. God encourages us to grow in Him and to learn His ways by the reading of His Word. To have a relationship with the Father that gives us a correct interpretation of His Word is vital. Many false prophets are in the world, you will know them by their fruit: what type it is and the lack there of, if they exemplify themselves or their ministry verses Jesus. Just for clarification, there is nothing wrong with advertising or using ones name in a ministry title as long as the ministry focus is Jesus. Many movements are in the world right now that uplift God, but when you look deeper it is a man-made universal god or a god with a different name then lised in God's Word the Bible. There is only One God, Jehovah.
The first part of the lesson is about Obedience to the King. It outlines character and growing in this area. As mentioned in yesterday's study, when one comes from a dysfunctional home life the character traits taught usually do not line up with the word of God. Many people grew up in a dysfunctional family where the word of God was misused and used for spiritual abuse. God is not about abuse.
God is about the Fruit of the Spirit: Love~Joy~Peace~Patience~Kindness~Goodness~Faithfulness~ Gentleness~Self-Control.
In light of the love He unconditionally offers and simply Who God is, let's be obedient and go to His Word:
8:1 Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? A man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the hardness of his face is changed. 8:2 I `counsel thee', Keep the king's command, and that in regard of the oath of God. 8:3 Be not hasty to go out of his presence; persist not in an evil thing: for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him. 8:4 For the king's word `hath' power; and who may say unto him, What doest thou? 8:5 Whoso keepeth the commandment shall know no evil thing; and a wise man's heart discerneth time and judgment: 8:6 for to every purpose there is a time and judgment; because the misery of man is great upon him: 8:7 for he knoweth not that which shall be; for who can tell him how it shall be? 8:8 There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power over the day of death; and there is no discharge in war: neither shall wickedness deliver him that is given to it. 8:9 All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: `there is' a time wherein one man hath power over another to his hurt. 8:10 So I saw the wicked buried, and they came `to the grave'; and they that had done right went away from the holy place, and were forgotten in the city: this also is vanity. 8:11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. 8:12 Though a sinner do evil a hundred times, and prolong his `days', yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, that fear before him: 8:13 but it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong `his' days, `which are' as a shadow; because he feareth not before God. In the above verses many of us can identify with the court system that was mentioned. A situation does not go before the courts in a what we would consider a timely fashion. Personally, in the pursuit of my daughter's safety, I have gone to court 26 times in 24 months. Also obtained a Victims Protection Order which is not included in the count. I am still in the court system and it has been 5 years now. Many of you know this walk and trial in life. If it was something self-generated or not, God is there with you if you allow Him to be. God is what we would consider in Oklahoma as a Gentleman. He will not push Himself on you. He patiently and lovingly waits until you are in a place where you look towards Him. He is ALWAYS there, You are in the palm of His hand...turn and look to Him...seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and then all these things will be added unto you. Walking through the court system is exhausting but full of wisdom. You learn the many trials that others are going through in life. You see the devistation that comes when one does not turn to Christ. I received a message yesterday that asked what about when you are doin ghte right things in life and still these trials are handed to you...I explained it like this..God is not a respector of persons, He loves each of us the same and may need you to walk down that road for what He wants you to do for Him in some one else's life. Just like we always love our children, there are times we have to let them just learn by what they are doing and then for us to be there for them when they descide..this is not working. It is not a form of God being mean to us. It is a form of His love for us, in that He wants us to grow....you are not being mean to your children when you allow these things, just a way for that child maybe based on the child's personality to learn. God knows His children the best...trust Him through what walk has been handed to you. I did not warnt the walk handed to me in life but I am grateful for the journey.
In the second half of the lesson the Teacher of Ecclesiastes noticed something that just didn't make sense. Some good people suffer, and some wicked people prosper. It seems to contradict other teachings in the Bible. Here we are advised not to trouble our mind with problems we cannot solve. We never have the whole picture! Only God knows the reasons behind everything. This should help us trust Him...trust God's plan for your life. Knowing we can trust God leads us back to the beginning verse of this study and how our face will show it...we will have outside signs that others can see...that Fruit of the Spirit begins to be our outward showing to others of our inward belief-system in Jesus.
8:14 There is a vanity which is done upon the earth, that there are righteous men unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there are wicked men to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity. 8:15 Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be joyful: for that shall abide with him in his labor `all' the days of his life which God hath given him under the sun. 8:16 When I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth (for also there is that neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes), 8:17 then I beheld all the work of God, that man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because however much a man labor to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea moreover, though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.
Before we pray, I wanted to let you know that I am posting the rest of the study until its completion. I will do this in daily incriments like this one. I am in the process of moving and will be off-line for a week. many people engaged in this study are Pastors and Evangelist with years worth of wisdom and a solid walk with our Father. Feel free to post a question and someone can address it. We are all from the same body of Christ. lets pray,
Prayer: Father, we thank you for who you are. We thank you for the blessing of your word in our life. Thank you for giving us a life-manual or plumb-line to walk worthy of through the blood of Jesus. Thank you for Jesus and our Salvation. in Jesus name, Amen.
See ya in a week guys! Love ya...more importantly....God loves you!

WOW! Cheryl if you could only see my face right now!!! Thank you so much! The God we serve is a God of LOVE!!! He is not sitting on His Throne with a big rolled up newspaper ready to smite us! I think that we need to quit focusing on all the bad situations and focus on Him. He is my ABBA Father! He is not moved by need, but by FAITH!! He is holding out His Hand wanting so much for us to take It. When we don't though, we have to walk out what we choose.
Be BLESSED woman! This study has lead me into so many other things. Praying all goes smoothly with your move! I will miss ya! |
