Hi Steve!  I'm definitely with you on that!  Although I almost always run alone, due to time issues, I am a much better runner, both for distance and speed, when I'm with someone else.  My best race was the one race I talked my nephew into running with me in 2006 (see blog), and I haven't been able to match that time since!  Thanks for reading my log!

OH man,
I'm impressed! I know you didn;t post this for that reason, but, you do remember the one about the workman being worthy of his wages! I think this is worthy of a good solid hooray, way to go!!

When I was in the Air National Guard we were required to "keep in shape" by taking a fitness test once a quarter.  I did the one mile walk/run and when I was done, I ended up in the flight surgeon's office with swollen ankles!  I couldn't even put on my shoes!  Needless to say some people can run and some cannot.  I envy you and your discipline.  Thanks for the report!

Ed, your story is painful!  Most people can be trained to run, but it needs to start gradually, and it has to be done with the right shoes.  Improperly fitted running shoes can cause much physical damage.  Thank you for your kind words, and if running is not for you, just be sure you're doing some kind of regular exercise!  And thank you for serving in the National Guard!!

I'm amazed at people who run.  I used to fast-walk in an indoor place.  I really liked that.

Hi Joey!  Running is not so amazing (at least the way I do it!).  If you can power walk, you are practically there!  My running club's motto is "a place for every pace," and that is so true for running.
