filled with thick clowds of swirl, the smoke hovered over the game. Centered in the blackness was one table and one evil way. As the deal was being delivered to fold or walk away...I peered across my hand to see what satan was gonna play. As he sat there and laughed at me trying to win a hand, every card I played only guided me into his plan. Clasped firmly around my soul, I knew he had me yet. Where to go, what to do, I never will forget.
A tiny light peered in and made me squint as I looked to the beauty. Riding in on a white Stallion was my King of Glory. He said, I'll take this round and moved me to the side. He battled with satan until i thought I was going to cry. I finally said, I've had enough and I surrender it all. With that confession I handed Jesus my last card. Jesus looked at me and said, "my child, my child, I always had the upper hand, I was waiting for you to walk with me without your own plan". What do I do from here...I begged into His eyes....He lovingly, looked my way and said, follow me.
"For the plans I have for you my child will take you into new games. Games of wisdom, love and following for your life you have in me."
I wondered what he meant...was my life just a game.......

it is he said...if I leave it in satans dream.
I looked at the bright Truth that stood before me and back again at the snear from satan's face....the memories of satan laughing at me as I played for my way.
only choosing now would matter for I felt deep within , I have to make a choice somehow before I crumble and dissolve in the sin.
In confusion, I asked, is this my only chance, for somehow I was wanting to toil and still to dance.
Jesus looked at me and with the peace in His eyes He said, I may do what I want, He was there for me. I felt like teatering until I saw Him turn to go and blood from His brow hit my coat.

satan hissed and stood up in victory and then I knew I was wrong...I looked toward the light....for that was where I belonged.

| It is all a matter of trust isn't it? I didn't know Jesus played cards? I bet that blows some people's legalistic mindsets. :) |

| I really really like this! It really shows the spiritual battle that goes on daily for our souls. I especially love the last line; it's like VICTORY! The happy ending of happy endings! |

| I have chosen Jesus as my Saviour and King. That is why I sing , I am thine , O Lord.I am thine O Lord, I have heard Your voice, And it told thy love to me; But I long to rise in the arms of faithand be closer drawn to thee. The song has a way of doing just that. I love to sing and I sing because I am happy and I sing because I'm free for His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. |

Cheryl, did you write this?! I like it! Sort of a cross between Kenny Rogers and Charlie Daniels, only better! I notice Jesus uses white-out. (See the Ace of hearts!) A star! |
