We saw that early on - when taking this church - we have prayed and prayed and God has helped the people to do both --- Now they are laying hands on the sick and that is opening the people's hearts to the Gospel like never before - because God healed them!  He showed mercy--

We are starting to hear the most incredible things -- angels appearing - young kids in high school talking to the roughest kids - about God -- they rough guys are coming to them --

People laying hands on people on their lunch breaks and people's sickness disappearing -

On my body - another bad topical skin deal - fell OFF!

And God is telling us to maintain the quality of the salvation experience with all the people we minister to.

Oops - sorry David got long -- am so excited!

Blessings to you -

Mrs.W.

I recently watch the movie The Second Chance, with Michael W. Smith. Your blog makes me think of one of the messages in the movie. Sometimes, we get so caught up in trying to save souls, that we forget to meet the basic needs of a person. We tell the poor, the hungry, and the homeless about the Love of God, but we forget to show it to them. On the other hand, we can get so caught up in the things of this world, meeting material needs, that we do not put sufficient emphasis on the Word of God. It can be difficult to reach a balance. At the very least, a ministry must understand that God is in control. All we have to do is trust and obey.

Powerful blog my friend....Here's just some food for thought.....As the hands and feet of Jesus.....There are some in the Body of Christ who water....some plant some seeds....but GOD gives the increase....

As GOD has called some to be Apostles....Prophets....Evangelists....Pastors....and Teachers.....there is great responsibility....and that task is to perfect the saints for the work of the ministry......Each of these offices have different responsibilities, and gifts to allow them to flow in their individual assignments.....And in these assignments we know that the harvest is plentiful....but the laborors are *few*

Absolutely right!  I think meetings people's needs, including the physical, emotional AND spiritual is the most effective way.  I do know of a church my brother used to attend,  a very large one in our area, that would do ministry outreaches, like AIDS walks and mission trips to meet people's physical needs, and my brother told me that the leadership would actually tell the workers not to give the gospel because it offends people.  I was so shocked!  They basically wanted the people to just "catch on" that Christians are kind and loving people, and that showing Christ's love is all you need to do.  Well, that's a great start, but it doesn't guarantee that these people will find out how to know Jesus as Savior.  Both are necessary. Thanks for a great post!  :)
