| OK, So I Had This Dream... |

I'm not one to remember dreams...but when I do, it's usually something related to spiritual things. So the other night I had a "dream" experience that I thought was interesting. In my dream I was sick, depressed, overwhelmed, stressed out and I remember that my father ("a" father figure...didn't look anything like my father) was in the house and we got into this huge argument about something. Don't recall what we argued about, but I remember my response was very strong - I yelled at him (right in his face) which is so contrary to my personality. I remember him saying there was 'demon possession' and that we needed to get rid of it. I was violently opposed and in total denial; but he knelt up on the bed and raised his hands to the sky and was holding this cross...just like in the movies...and I remember being as if in the eye of a storm and then spitting something out...like some violent expulsion...and then calm. But I remember feeling that the demon was still hanging around. I looked at the bedroom window and saw this 'demonic' face looking in. We immediately ran out the backdoor to catch him and destroy him, and as I reached the back door and looked down from the deck, I could see that the demon was extremely small...almost rediculously small. Then we ran in pursuit. We continued to chase this demon here and there until we came to a certain spot...like the end of the road...and he suddenly vaporized. I awoke with a start and felt a horrible feeling of oppression; like I was extremely cold and threatened. And so I began praying that the powers of darkness be removed. I just prayed it over and over and over in the name of Jesus. And the images of the father on the bed and then the image of the rediculously small size of the demon were put in front of me and suddenly I was enveloped with this amazing sense of love and warmth. I was completely immersed in the Holy Spirit and I thought of this: how relatively small are the powers of darkness. It is the little things/issues/'demons' that come in to threaten and destroy if we are not aware. It is in the 'recognition' of it that its smallness is exposed and defeated. James 4:7 says, "So give yourselves completely to God. Stand against the devil, and the devil will run from you. Come near to God and God will come near to you."
Anyways....just thought I'd share that with y'all and see what you have to say. Derek |
