Details. Most of us don't pay much attention to them. We see the big picture and that's it. We think the details will take care of themselves in time.
As Christians details are everything. When explaining Christ to people, most need more knowledge than Jesus died a very painful death on the cross so that you may one day see our Heavenly Father because Jesus Christ our Savour gave us the power of forgiveness through his crucifiction.Okay, most of us don't even get into that much detail. We say Christ died on the cross for our sins. And that's it. No more detail. Yes, to us who know the Lord, that might be enough for us to remember why we are even worthy of breathing. But to those who have no clue we need to give a little more detail.
When we talk about the latest iPOD we got we go into massive detail about it. When somebody asks what kind it is we say: It's the new iPOD Nano, its greenish with 8 gig max memory. It has an awsome color picture. It holds music vids and pics. It was $154 but it was sure worth it!! I've already put 29 different cd's on it with 4 or 5 videos and my whole picture gallery. It's absolutly amazing!! I would die without it!!!...........~Okay, maybe a little extravagant...but not really.
We give more detail and get wrapped up into all the materialstic aspects of this world that we can't even explain the beauty of our Lord. Everyone carries a cell phone and some sort of mp3 player with them at all times...how many carry a bible with them? I don't know anybody. I know I don't. Why not? Why are we so caught up in this world that we created that we can't even recognize the creations God gave us?
Today, I ask you to step back from the materialistic things that distract us from God so that we may have a detailed answer like we do for our iPODs to the question: Why is Jesus so important? |
