Hey Sue, I have been very busy on this end...yesterday we sang "My God" (Hillsong), "Majesty" (Passion version), "How Great Is Our God", (Chris Tomlin), and closed to "How Great Thou Art"...it was a tremendous service. We are preparing to move locations (our current location is going to be demolished" and have no a/c (stolen) so we have been giving ourselves a major gut-check. It is hot and humid and we are sweating...but we are still gathering together in spite of that and the result is awesome. I don't know how 4 songs lasts an hour but they do...and b/c of our intimate praise and worship God is surely movng among us...it is awesome...and humbling. Palm Sunday I think gets passed by so often...but these hours were the last before death. I cannot imagine His anticipation of this moment...it bothered Him so He sweat blood in the garden. I can remember receiving missions that the possibility of no return was rather huge...and being so nervous as the clock ticked towards it...He KNEW He was going to be tortured, mocked, and beaten BEFORE He was crucified yet on this day, with head held high, He allowed the people their moment of victory. He still does that you know. How many people are involved in a good praise service that feel justified by their praise yet still live in the world and are defined in it? A great many. Our ability to praise says nothing of where our heart stands with Christ...and unfortunately so many confuse the two. They praise while they feel blessed but turn and leave when the "river runs dry" If He never provides us with another miracle hasn't He done enough through the cross? |
