Anyway, I finished the walk. I came home to find that one of my neighbors has now mowed which makes my yard look even worse, but as usual, I can't get my mower to start. I am not a particularly handy person so we should probably not discuss the wisdom of my decision to become a homeowner a few years back. But I dutifully pulled out the instruction manual and wrote down part numbers for spark plugs, etc. Took a trip to Home Depot today, bought parts; still with the intention, though, of letting them sit until I could get a guy friend to come over and do it.

But then God moves in. And I get bold, or maybe cocky. So while I'm waiting for my friend I start playing with the spark plug trying to pull it out. I took calculus, surely I can handle this. Fifteen minutes later the spark plug is changed, air filter is changed, it has fresh oil and gas. I try a couple pulls and start to hear some life. On the 6th pull I have an engine that is running.

I IM'd a friend later and bragged (it was shameless and I have to be honest because he may read this).  But later on this evening it occurred to me, that it was an answered prayer.  Guys you may not understand the frustration and helplessness a woman feels when she can't fix things.  But  getting that lawn mower going for me, was God's sign to me, that He will take care of me.  This time He worked through me.  Next time, I may have to step back and wait for a friend to help me.  

But I know that always, God will be there for me.
