My dear comrades, As many of you know, this year I had the privilege of traveling to Israel. The trip has changed many things in my life, and I thought my first blog would let you know about them. If anybody ever gets the opportunity to go to Israel, my advise would be go. It is a beautiful country and many of my preconceived "American" notions about Israel were changed. First of all, its not as big as you'd think. Basically within an hour or two you can be at the major sites and cities. The first morning in Tiberias, I looked across the Sea of Galilee and saw the other side, as a matter of fact, I could see all the sides. The highlight of my trip was on a Monday, as we went "up" to Jerusalem. I must say this turned very emotional to me, and it took me several minutes to regain my composure. I loved it there, and enjoyed my daily walks with many others on our trip to Ben Yehuda Street (which is very famous street, but I did not know that then). This Psalm now has new meaning to me: 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go unto the house of Jehovah. 122:2 Our feet are standing Within thy gates, O Jerusalem, 122:3 Jerusalem, that art builded As a city that is compact together; 122:4 Whither the tribes go up, even the tribes of Jehovah, `For' an ordinance for Israel, To give thanks unto the name of Jehovah. 122:5 For there are set thrones for judgment, The thrones of the house of David. 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: They shall prosper that love thee. God bless, Be well, and Keep in touch! |
