God Never Stops Transmitting
Yesterday I stumbled upon one of Grant's Blogs and it got me thinking, as they usually do. The question was "Is God Silent".
One of the greatest explanations I have heard on this topic came from Andrew Wommack. Andrew speaks of this very thing in several of his messages and the way he explains it really helped me to understand. I don't think I can do quite as good of job as Andrew, or Grant, but here's my best attempt.
Whether you realize it or not, the room you are sitting in right this very moment is filled with all sorts of signals. There are wireless telephone signals, wireless internet signals, television signals, and radio signals just to name a few. Just because you cannot see them or hear them does not mean that they are not there. These signals are surrounding you. There are hundreds if not thousands of phone conversations taking place in the airways that surround your body right now. There are different songs and talk shows broadcasting right in your room, right this very second. There are television programs of all sorts, and millions of people exchanging information via the internet.
Can you see and or hear all of these signals? Of course not. Not unless you have some sort of receiver turned on and tuned in.
Through all that "busy-ness" there is also another very important signal. It's the Holy Spirit of God. God's voice if you will. It is the parent signal, and unless you tune out all of the secondary signals, you are liable to miss it.
God never stops transmitting! Think about this. If you were to go to your television right now and turn it on, and it was pre-tuned to a station, and if your television was working properly, you would immediately begin seeing and hearing whatever that station happens to be broadcasting at that moment. Let me ask you, did the station begin broadcasting that signal at the moment you turned on the TV? Of course not. They were broadcasting that program the entire time. You just had to turn on your receiver to be able to put eyes and ears to something that already existed. Your television isn't producing television programs, it merely receives and relays them.
Likewise it is with God. God's is pouring out His Spirit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. He never stops. If you are not hearing from God it is not because He is not speaking to you. God always speaks to you. God wants to bless you. God wants to fill your heart with love. God wants to heal you. God wants to see everyone saved. God wants revival more than we could ever want it. He's always available. He never closes. He never sleeps. And most importantly, he doesn't withdraw from you just because you haven't been living holy enough, or paying all your tithes, or praying an hour a day.
So again I ask, is God silent? Never!
If you want to begin to hear more from God, my suggestion would be to turn off some of those signals that you are currently receiving, and get turned on and tuned in to the master signal, The Holy Spirit of God!
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. |

Wow! Amen! I used to tell my kids that our minds were designed to receive signals. If we are not receiving from God the enemy will use that to his advantage and send his own signals |

If a tree falls in the forests and no one's around, does it make a sound?
Excellent word today Micael! And most importantly, he doesn't withdraw from you just because you haven't been living holy enough, or paying all your tithes, or praying an hour a day.
Love it! Thanks! |

I've had God choose to remain silent in certain situations so I would learn to just trust and obey. Is that something different??? I'm not trying to be argumentative, just bringing up a point that may be addressed by someone else. For the most part, I agree that if we aren't hearing from God after quite some time, we ought to turn on the God radio. lol Something is keeping the transmission out. |

| Lara, I have learned that once we get an answer to a question, we as people have a tendancy to not like it therefore keep repeating the question expecting another answer. So we have to start asking other questions. Redirect, refocus then God can continue with us. lol |

| God never leaves us, He is always there...if we don't feel His presence, it is because we have moved away from Him, tuned Him out. We need to constantly be aware of our reception and if it needs tuning up or not...you know, like the old bunny ears on the televisions...sometimes you had to turn them to get a certain station to come in. |

Hi there Woman of Laughter, it's good to see you! Great name BTW!
Good point Ruth. "If we are not receiving from God the enemy will use that to his advantage and send his own signals" Exactly. To me that's what all the other signals are anyway, at least most of them. He's the prince and power of the air, or the god of this world.
Latonya, thanks for the great comment. You said, "If a tree falls in the forests and no one's around, does it make a sound?" That cracked me out. I mean up!
Lara, I am hearing you...LOL. Just a thought, but that way I see it is when we percieve that God is being quiet it's because he has already given us the answer we are looking for. In other words, He wants us to go back to His already spoken Word. It's kind of like He doesn't like repeating Himself. Make sense? Jesus did basically the same thing when John was in jail and wondering if Jesus really was the Messiah. "Do We Look For Another?" Kind of what Ruth said!
Great words of wisdom from you Deb. "you know, like the old bunny ears on the televisions.." No, I don't know. They must have been before my time. Tell us about them. :)

| I'm not just talking about silence when you are awaiting an answer to something; I am talking about silence, just because. Do you know what I mean? |
|
|
I am not sure I do Lara.....I mean I experience times of silence at times, but it's usually because I have shut off the valve on my end, so to speak.
Can you elaborate? |
|
|
| Lara, I guess all you do is ask God to show you why. |
|
|
| Sorta like God remained silent for a few hundred years & wouldn't even speak through prophets til He sent His Son. And I know there have been great stretches of time where I have never "felt" God and felt like I was talking to a brick wall when I prayed. The Lord had told me after one such looooooooong time period, He was trying to teach me to live by faith and not feelings, and take Him at His word that He is there, whether I "hear" Him or not. That's what I mean. lol |

Amen Michael, Truly, He is always "transmitting" all the time. Part of what I'm hearing is about walking in His Holiness, bringing my tithes to the storehouse, and praying without ceasing. If we sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous. Glory to God.................excellent blog ! |

"He was trying to teach me to live by faith and not feelings, and take Him at His word that He is there" -- Lara In my opionion, that is one of the most important lessons to learn. I've been there when God has been "quiet". Lara: Maybe He's quiet at times (not speaking), because He just wants to be present with you. I have been with friends at times and not had discussions; it doesn't mean we were angry or inaudible. It just meant we just spent time together. Michael: Maybe what you say is true: God is always transmitting. But maybe He's not always transmitting to all of us. |

Lara,
Regardless of where we are in the Christian life, there is always some aspect of our lives that we will not let go of. While we may experience the Presence of Christ and hear His voice and willingly obey His commands and guidance for us, we none the less have some aspect of our lives that have yet to be transformed. We are human.
God may have other plans for us, and He may still be wanting to sharpen us. So there are times when what has worked in the past to reconnect with God doesn't work. Often it does mean that we have drifted too far from God. But sometimes it's God helping us find a deeper hunger for Him. A hunger that drives us through obstacles that perhaps we won't even be able to see because we are so focused on Him. Obstacles that would otherwise cause us to stop....to turn back.
God never leaves us. But what He wants more than anything else is a real, meaningful relationship with us. And He will do whatever it takes to lead us into that relationship.

| Great blog........I know that I don't hear from God sometimes....but what I've learned is that something in my life is blocking the communication......like worry over what I've been praying for, impatience that it's not done quick enough, and fear that He won't answer....all things that I need to repent of and get out of my life :) |

| Micheal, Thanks for sharing this with me and others who will venture this way...God Bless |
