I love flowers. I'm not that big on my husband stopping and buying me flowers and bringing them home......but when he buys me something I can plant, watch grow and remember the day it was given to me, I get really excited. One day, about 3 years ago, he came home with a bag and handed it to me. Woooooooohooooooo, he scored points bigtime that day.....iris bulbs! And one was to be almost black. I carefully planted those bulbs with loving care and checked them everyday. A year went by, no blooms, but I still loved those plants and continued to care for them. Another year gone, with no blooms, and still I cared for them, hoping someday they would bloom in all their glory. Finally, they have decided to bloom!!! Everyday, I check them, anxiously awaiting the beautiful colors to burst forth for me to enjoy....and in the meantime....I still care for them. And will continue to, even when the bloom is gone, because more will follow, and they'll multiply. Today, as I saw a little bit of color, I had what I call a God moment. I've waiting all these years, tending and caring for these flowers, anticipating the bloom.....this is exactly what God does for us. He plants us in locations where we'll grow best. He tenderly tends and cares for us. And He waits........... For us to bloom, to display the beautiful colors that are uniquely ours that He instilled in us. And He will continue to tend and care :) |
