Well, one can make the argument that the since Lesbos one claim to fame is a lesbian poet (in the sexual sense of the word as well as the geographical sense) that the gay rights group can use the name.
However, I would prefer that they resurrect the classical word "fricatrix" rather than the rather geographically limiting "lesbian".

I'd like us just to go back to the time when we are just persons.
