I have noticed and I may be the only one that did, but since Fox "allowed" American Idol to air the video of the group singing "Shout To The Lord", I have seen more and more songs have a spiritual message behind them. It may be something as simple as mentioning "Jesus" in the song. I think American Idol might be testing the waters just to see what they can and can't get away with. In any event, I love it that they are praising our Lord and Savior!! I only pray that it isnt just for the showmanship, but that the performers each have a personal relationship with God.

Makes me wonder....instead of the group doing "Shout To The Lord".....what if they had done Rich Mullens' "Awesome God?"

Thanks for the tip Amy.

Matthew, I am not sure if it is American Idol or not. I don't fully understand how the program works, but after listening to Dolly Parton here and a few others, I believe the show gives a theme - it has to be a Dolly Parton song - and the singers pick which one they want to sing. They are in a competition so they are picking one they can sing well, but that also will appeal to the listeners who vote for them. Perhaps, and I am not sure about this, maybe these singers, maybe some of them are only interested in appealing to one listener. Maybe.
