I think we are too focussed on going to church alot of times and not enough on God I know from my own personal journey in life things are mostly way to complicated and way over rated when it comes to church stuff, hmmmm church stuff isnt where it's at God's stuff is where it's at I think.
But everyone is different and some like the church thing and some don't get it!
Me I'm still tryen to figure it all out I think!
Great Blog Jair :)

Thanks Liz.  I like church, but I'm having a tough time with some things about how it works.  Example:  Church A has only 3 teenagers and church B, only a couple of blocks away, has a huge youth ministry.  Why shouldn't the 3 teenagers from A go to church B on Wednesday night?  Why not at lease sometimes?  What if the beliefs are exactly the same?  Why aren't these so-called family members working together?  Does it make any sense?  Are we family or competitors?  Shouldn't it be about what's best for the people and not what's best for the organization?

These are great questions to be asked. Paul the Apostle got a little upset in 1 Corinth 1:10-13. There was division on who baptized who and who follows who. There are all sorts of excuses as to why we have so many denominations and I'm not sure any of them are any good. Paul the Apostle was fighting it in the early days of the church. Many scriptures refer to us as a part of THE body of Christ. I don't believe the Church was ever meant to be an institution or denomination or run like a business. I find this amazing that after all the effort to get millions to see the movie Passion of the Christ that there has not been any churches that have reported major growth from there efforts. People are wanting to know Christ but they can't stand the church. May I refer you to a book by Frank Viola called Pagan Christianity, and God's Ultimate Passion. www.frankviola.com makes for some very interesting reading. God Bless

Hi Anthony, I will def get and read this book.  I looked over your profile and watched the videos and was surprised to see that I am not alone in my thinking.  It's exciting to see how the increase in knowlege through technology is causing the fall of so many things peolpe had no power to overcome before - it's opening doors and revealing truth and righting a lot of wrongs.  Thanks for you input!

I choose to see all the various denominations of churches as diversity in the body of Christ, as opposed to division! I mean, all believers don't think, act, feel alike...we aren't robots. God created individuals with....individuality! All the different denominations (of truly "Christian" churches) differ mainly in secondary issues of faith, i.e. style and priority, not essential doctrine. So should it bother us that Baptists worship with Baptists, Pentacostals w/Pentacostals, etc.? And since I can't really go to a different church every week and form meaningful relationships with everyone I see, I settle down in one spot (which does things in a style that is to my liking) and establish relationships of partnership in our walk with the Lord....exhortation, fellowship, accountability are all done most effectively through relationships!! Great questions Jair, God bless!! ~mike

Thanks to everyone for entering into the discussion, I appreciate all the points of view because we are all truly different.  I too attend a church and understand the concept and why people do it but several recent experiences have me questioning the practice as we know it.  Consider the following:

People in my church have needs that my church cannot meet.

Going 5 miles in any direction will reveal TONS of other churches.

These churches are our FAMILY, our brothers and sisters.

Between the lot of them, they could meet the unmet needs of our people.

We could meet many of their needs as well.

So what's the problem?

Are we a business?  Are we controlled by politics?  Are we following Christ, or a list of rules?  Did Jesus ask what church people belonged to before healing them?  What are we doing?  Can this be right?
