| THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH |
|
| |
Our relationship with God is much like being at Disney World. We are on top of the world. We are having the time of our life, after all isn't Disney supposed to be the happiest place on earth. We get so busy whirling and twirling in the fluffy stuff of life,we stop taking time to read our Bible every day.Slowly, we start taking God for granted. After all,we are at the happiest place on earth. Even at Disney there are negatives that can begin to distract you, making "the happiest place on earth" a little less happy. Can you believe that you had to pay $15 for that tiny glass of water? There wasn't even any ice in that tiny glass. How are you going to be able to pay for this trip? The trip to the happiest place on earth is more expensive than you realized. You're so distracted that you hardly even realize that not only are not picking up our Bible, now you're rarely talking to God either. The joy of " the happiest place on earth" has already started to fade.Still, you know that your joy is about to return 10 fold, as you're a heart beat from realizing a life long dream. The teacups, those glorious teacups, you've dreamed of riding in those teacups your whole life. You round corner, the excitement builds.Your heart is beating faster now. You turn the corner, you see the teacups. How could it be,not a soul in line. Then doubt fills your soul as you read the sign, closed for repairs the entire week you're visiting "the once" happiest place on earth.Your dreams shatter like those broken teacups. Life with it's busyness and distractions just keeps on coming, but now you're consumed, overwhelmed because you've just added doubt to your already too heavy load. Finally, you cry out to God,why,God,why. Then God begins to repair you like those broken teacups.God reminds you of the joy you had when you weren't so busy, distracted and full of doubt. It's then you realize the happiest place on earth, isn't some man made place like Disney World,it's a real and living relationship with God. |

| Great blog, and so true. |

I am guilty of not picking up my Bible every day because of ... other things pressing my time.
We lived in Arizona for 17 years and never made it to Disneyland. Looks like we would have gone broke if we had. |

Lost,Tommy,Deb,Thanks Gretchen-I've never been to Disney World either.I'd prefer the Grand Canyon. |

| Mike,we are definitely on the same wavelength.Never thought of teh over busyness that we bring upon ourselves as a form of low grade violence that we perform on ourselves.Am gonna share that with our Sunday school class. |

| wow what a wonderful awesome post. The doubt part hit me right where it counts. I am sure so sure I'm where I'm suppose to be, doing what He wants me to, then if circumstances are not what I think they should be I start doubting. When really it's not what I think that matters, It's not the outcome I think should be thats important but what He thinks and wants...and how will I know if I don't keep in contact with Him. Thanks you for the shared reminder. Bless you. |

| Robin-thanks.In Sun.School we've been studying how busyness, distraction, doubt, and discouragement all go hand and glove with putting our relationship with Christ on the back burner.Have really been turning it over and over in my mind.I want to know what He wants.I want God to be my "Obsession".That was a great blog. |
