This is a blog based upon some revelation of God through a couple of close friends (the blue is me) calling to talk, I hope it sheds some light and helps those of you who read it:
I had misplaced my devotional and did not read yesterday (05-02-08) until this am (after I found it, yeah!!). Here is what yesterday's said, God is so COOL!!!
Sounds familiar to a conversation we were having yesterday evening! He knows what we need before we do!
Jesus understood that if you do not take a break....you'll break!
- make a list of things that only you can do, then delegate the rest or let them go
- learn to take small steps and celebrate small accomplishments for that is what life is made of
- don't allow the stuff that's still undone, to undo you
- strive for balance, don't become addicted to what you enjoy
- don't allow overachievers to put you into overdrive, you're in for the long haul. You win when you pace yourself
- take time for the people who matter, otherwise you'll lose them
Busyness is a destroyer of relationships. All the success in the world won't compensate for the joy and treasure of your family and your loved ones!

Remember the Word talking about those that are double minded, being blown about like the reeds, or tossed about like a boat without a rudder on the waves. That is from no "Steadfast Purpose / Plumbline". Imagine a huge oil tanker with no rudder on rough seas....that baby is going down! Now imagine that same oil tanker with a rudder (it's plumbline) to keep it on course (it's purpose to get to it's destination). That thing will basically plow right through the wind and the waves! I know you get this but the wind and the waves are the situations, circumstances, the moods, the distractions that come at us everyday to blow us off course (our purpose)!!! Man, this is some good stuff!!!
BREAKING THROUGH!!!!!!!! I'm breaking through and I'm bruised and battered and hungry but By GOD'S grace I'm breaking through.......... You're right about the foundation.... Moods and emotions are like a roller coaster! It's all about the plumbline.....

I'm telling you...BREAKTHROUGH! God is moving and we ain't seen nothing yet!!! Today is going to be a great day, tomorrow the roof is going to be blown off durning worship!!! Those with a PURPOSE are the ones that will endure to the end. A steadfast purpose defines what you do and what you won't do. It is your standard (the "Plumbline"), it is what is used to determine what you do and what you don't do; what is essential and what is not.
It is all based upon the Foundation, the "Steadfast Purpose", the "Plumbline"! With out it there is no foundation to base your decisions, allocate your time or resource. Without it you will make choices or decisions based upon situations, circumstances, pressures or your mood at that moment. When you do not know your purpose you try to do too much, which causes stress and conflict. You only have enough time to do God's will not everyone else's. A "Steadfast Purpose", a "Plumbline" makes your lifestyle simpler and your schedule saner. It leads to peace of mind: "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast." This is from Mark Gorman's daily devotional....man it really spoke to me this morning. I have been seeking God to understand why "Plumbline Ministries"? I think I understand now!! To help people find or define their "Steadfast Purpose", to set their "Plumbline" in life. God, family, business. Spirit, mind & body.
That is so good! I'm printing it up and keeping it in front of me here and at the Jail - Keep the main thing the main thing! Hey, guess what? Josh got me my mother's day gift... An iPod Classic, 80 gig HD - It is soooo cool. I can get some external speaker, build a case for them and use it at the jail - also can get A/V connectors and use the 27 in TV we have in our office just sitting there to show video's and podcasts to them. I really like the final statement here - Our success IS in helping others become and be successfull - Then we're NOT self focused. That's why I do what I do... Thank you Jesus! You and your family are a rare treasured find that will not be mishandled or wasted. Thanks my friend. Today's my "Break" - Going to see Iron Man with the boys!

| Great blog, David! I'm really detecting a strong message of anti-busyness lately in many blogs. It's awesome when the Holy Spirit speaks to many people at once! |
