| Who Gets Saved? |
|
| |
Lately I’ve been exposed to people who believe everyone will be saved, or at least all the “good” people will be saved. This lie of Satan disturbs me because it will cause so many to miss eternal life. Some would say, everyone has the right to their own belief. But what we believe is not the issue, what is True is the issue. And what is True is found in the Words of the One who is Truth. Therefore, let us look at what Christ Jesus has said regarding who gets saved. Since there is much that He says, we will look at just three statements here.
In John 17, Jesus prays as He prepares to complete His mission. In verse 12 He prays, “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.”
Here Jesus states that Judas is lost, which means that not everyone is saved.
In Matthew 7:13-14, Jesus says, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
Here Jesus says there are more who are lost than are saved. All there more reason for us to seek the Truth.
In Matthew 7:21-23 He goes on to say, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
This is scary! Here Jesus tells us that there will be people who believe superficially in Jesus even though they are able to prophesize, cast out demons and work various wonders, yet they have not trusted in Jesus and have no relationship with Him that they may receive eternal life (be saved). Just because someone says they believe in God, or even that they believe in Jesus, be careful to compare what they say to the Bible. Deceivers will even be able to perform signs and wonders. I hope you will read these chapters in full. Matthew 7 has example after example on how to know someone who is saved verses one who is not.
Some might say that if not everyone is saved then Jesus failed in His mission. Misquoting scriptures like this one. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. 1 John 4:14
Recall the Passover, when the tenth plague was coming. God provided a way for Israel’s firstborn to be saved, by killing the spotless lamb and putting its blood on the door posts. It was a salvation for all firstborn, but was only in effect for those who applied the blood. So it is with eternal life. Jesus indeed completed His mission as Savior of the world, but only those who apply the blood He shed will be saved. This He proclaimed when He gave what we call the Last (or Lord’s) Supper or Communion.
Paul told the Corinthians that anyone who partakes of this in an unworthy manner is guilty of killing the Lord (1 Corinthians 11:27) and bring judgment upon themselves (1 Corinthians 11:27).
Scripture is clear that not everyone will be saved, but only those who have given their life over to Christ. Please do not be deceived, but study and know the whole Word of God. |

Mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
What part of ALL THINGS do you not understand ?
By your above post....well over 95% of the world would be Lost. All Things were given to Jesus and he said None of it was Lost. Judas was in no way the Son of Perdition.
Fear paralyzes Us to take a risk to find Truth. This is why Satan twist scriptures with manipulation of Fear. It knocks us out of the arena, and we are no longer able to Rest In the eternal security found in Jesus Christ. There are by far many more verses that explain the end of the mission of Jesus as Salvation to All than there are that the world or some will be lost.
Love will never fail. The mercies of God endure forever. God himself took an oath that His Love was greater than the effects of Sin. Jesus Christ one act is greater than the one act of Adam. Jesus came to destroy the "works" of the devil.
He did succeed and finished the task.
A voice within us all "acts like God" but is not God.

Kw, Yes, all things are under the authority of Christ. The scripture you quote is saying that the only ones who will see God are those to whom Christ reveals Him. This actually contradicts your belief that everyone is saved no matter what they believe or what they do.
And if it is true that everyone is saved, why do you waste time trying to tell people about it? It doesn't matter what they believe. It doesn't matter if Satan twists scripture, so what, if everyone is saved. If everyone is saved, then scripture is worthless because we don't need to know it. Why did Jesus waste 3 years teaching the disciples to continue preaching the Truth? It doen't matter. Why did He tell them to teach all nations to obey Him and be baptised if it doesn't matter what we do? Why not just say "Enjoy yourself, I've got you covered." Why didn't He just have Joseph kill Him, and then rise in 3 days and be done with it? Or why waste the 4000 years before He came to earth, why not just come through Eve and have Adam kill Him and then rise before anyone was ever born?
According to what you teach I don't need to work, because I can take whatever I need or want, it doesn't matter I'll still be saved. In fact, since I've received Christ and He lives in me its not even a sin (according to your home page) because Christ is actually doing the stealing. Why be married? I can have any woman who is willing or not willing. It doesn't matter what I do, I'll be saved anyway. Do you see the deadly ending of your teaching?
It was the words of Jesus who said that most people will be lost and only a few that will receive eternal life, not I.
Judas was the Son of Perdition, he fullfilled the scripture by betraying Jesus for 30 pieces of silver.
Yes Satan twists scripture. He began in the garden when he told Eve, "You will not surely die" in direct opposition to what God said. Now you are saying something simular. You say that no matter what we believe or do we will not die. But this is in opposition to the Word of God. Hear the words of Christ and believe:
John Chapter 3 "14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
When Moses lifted up the serpent, only those who looked to it were saved (Numbers 21:8-9). Jesus says in the same way only those who look to Him will be saved.
In Mark 16 we also read the command that Jesus gave to His disciples: 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
It is Jesus who is saying that not everyone will be saved, but only those who believe. I will trust Him alone. I pray that God will open your understanding that you may come to know the truth, lest souls be lost by your teaching.

| Marlin, your case seems well-reasoned. |

Marlin; The blessings of the Lord be unto you and yours.
/quote/ Kw, Yes, all things are under the authority of Christ. The scripture you quote is saying that the only ones who will see God are those to whom Christ reveals Him. This actually contradicts your belief that everyone is saved no matter what they believe or what they do..../end quote
actually you are not reading the verse correctly
Mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and ((no man knoweth the Son)), but the Father; neither knoweth ((any man the Father, save the Son)), and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
The whomsoever is just that : whoever what ever. It is not saying a certain type of person here Marlin. Who so ever is a statement that includes every type of creature in existence. You think you read "believer" but that is your mind playing tricks. It say whom so ever the Son chooses. It is not saying who so ever believes or chooses by free will or any type of choice mechanism by the individual. But WHO SO EVER .
Why waste time/ if everyone is saved the scriptures are hummmmm worthless / Lets see here Adam sins, but if Adam kills Jesus some how God will forgive Adam. / Marlin are you sure you know the Son and the Father. There are many in this world who will pat you on your back and tell you whatever you need to hear to be praised, as long as you line your ducks into the roll of the Devils lie that mankind was held accountable for sins that they never actually did. It was Adam who transgressed and mankind fell into the hole with him Marlin.
Jesus ransomed back that fall of Adam and raise up the humanity from the power of the grave.
Humanity was crucified for it's nature of sin Marlin. We all are crucified with Jesus. We all died as wages became due. (Gal.2:20 / Col3:3)
anyways the condemnation is not hell. But rather a state of main as Jesus CLEARLY stated in your above verse.
And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness RATHER THAN light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
This is the condemnation Marlin........Men are given over to the desire of darkness (the Father/true son ((TRUTH)) is not revealed to them) This IS the condemnation. Where ole where do you get all that other fearful stuff about Hell and eternal punishment ect........ It sure isn't coming from Jesus. But rather a condemnation for serving the fear or voice of the enemy.
May God enlighten you my Friend, in that you may have secure peace without change.\

Kw, But as you say it doesn't matter what we believe, so why do you try to change people's beliefs? Since none of us can avoid being saved. It's odd that we (through Adam) could chose to rebel but are forced to chose to return (be saved). God could have saved a lot of time and trouble by just taking away Adam's ability to fall. That way Jesus wouldn't have had to suffer and die for our sins because we could have sinned. What a wasteful god!
You are taking Matthew 11 out of context. Before the verse you state Jesus is rebuking the cities for not repenting (an act He wanted them to take by their free will). He tells them that the cities of the past would have repented had His works had been done in them. He tells them that those past cities would have it easier on Judgement day.
My point was, since it doesn't matter what we do or believe, why would God wait 4000 years for Roman to have Jesus die for our sins, why not just do it immediately after Adam fell.
Perhaps you are not aware of Revelation 20:10 "The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever." Here is the eternal punishment "stuff" directly from the word of God.
And in Revelation 20:15 "And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." Those not found in the Book of Life are cast there as well. These are those who were delivered up from the sea and Death and Hades (verse 13).
As for the condemnation, you do not understand what Jesus is saying. The darkness is not the condemnation, but their choosing darkness over life will be what condemns them because they have not believed in the Son of God. The previous verse tells us that Jeuss did not come to condemn, then tells us what does condemn: Not believing in Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Yes, I know Jesus The Son and I hear His Word (John 10:27). God has enlightned me. May He teach you the Truth of His Holy and Perfect Word that you may begin teaching the Truth.
