I was reading this morning and this passage leapt off the page and into my heart:
4:30 They went out of the city and were coming to him. 4:31 Meanwhile the disciples besought him, saying, "Rabbi, eat." 4:32 But he said to them, "I have food to eat of which you do not know." 4:33 So the disciples said to one another, "Has any one brought him food?" 4:34 Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.
I had to laugh at the disciples. "I have food to eat of which you do not know", says Jesus and then the disciples wonder if someone has given him a Little Debbie or a Big Mac. They are probably wondering why He hasn't shared any of it with them. All the while, Christ is talking about spiritual food. I had to admit that I am like this very often. I get side tracked with the carnal nature of life and neglect the food that Jesus speaks of.
Would that I could partake more of the food to do the will of him who SAVED me, and to accomplish HIS work!! Now that's a diet we should all try to stick to!
We could all stand some of this diet!!!! LOL!!! For real though, we hunger many times and don't even know what we are hungering for because we are not searching Him out! This one made me really stop and think! Thanks, Sis!
Ever try fasting? I just came off of my first fast of 10 days about a month ago... HOLY GUAKAMOLIE. I never realised how addicted to food we are as a nation untill then. There is alot to be said about a strict diet and the implications of it. Jesus fasted for 40 days. When you fast though be warned DEMONS LURK! Espically if you intend on eating only pure foods after your fast. here is the fast I used. http://www.therawfoodsite.com/mastercleanse.htm In love In Christ Peace and ORGANIC soy grease
