Finding the Will of God - As I've been writing this series of blogs, I'm amazed that no-one has called me on this Title. For to "Find" the Will of God, it would have to have been lost or at least hidden from view. This is definately not the case.
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment–to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. Ephesians 1:7-10
Does this sound like God is hiding something from us. No. He lavished His Grace on us with all wisdom and understanding. He made known to us the mystery of His will. His will for us is centralized in the coming of His Son Jesus Christ. It is there that our questions get answered. Questions ranging from "is abortion really a choice?" to "should I buy a new car?" Is made plain in the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord.
We love Him because He first loved us. We obey His commandments because we love Him. We love others because He loves them too. Jesus is central to every waking moment of our lives. It is because of Him that we were created. It is because of Him that we now live. It is because of Him that we will forever live for eternity.
His Will is open for all to see. It is not hidden. It is not a secret to be devined from some super-spiritual revelation. It is found in knowing Jesus. I didn't say knowing about Jesus even though that is a good place to start. I said knowing Jesus. The more we know Jesus the less we have to wonder what His will is for us.
If you don't know Jesus, tell him now that you want to get to know Him. Spend time getting to know Him. He loves you and wants you to know all about Him. Then and only then will you see what His will is for you. It's not hidden, but it is up to you to open your eyes and behold his grace to you. Let me know how this turns out for you.
