Mr. Kasper, Those verses make me crazy!   All the me in him and me in you and him in me stuff.  I just know one thing right now in the midst of the month of May. Every thing i do, everything we do in our house, is all about Jesus Christ.   That i love Him more than i love anything else in the world.  That He is all i  need.  That serving Him is the most wonderful thing i have ever done, and living my life, raising my kids, giving my marriage, and every other thing in my life to Him is the only option i have.  What would i go back to?  I guess that is what the verse is talking about isnt it?  God Bless you and the family, hope to see you all soon.  Theresa.  Keep doing what your doing you make a difference in every one you meet.

My friend, this Scripture was prayed by the Lord Jesus just before His passion.  This was one of His final prayers on this earth.  It is so important and it can not be understated.  The Holy Spirit came to the upper room when they were all in one accord.  In Acts, 2 and 4 we see that no one regarded anything as their own but held that everything was in common.  The Apostle Paul exhorts us not to just merely look out for our own interests but the interests of others.  I think where we get off track with the unity of the body is that we are all seeking our own interests.  We are all important to the body.  We are not all the same but we each have our function and we work together to achieve a common purpose. We have too much I-itis and will not prefer our brothers or submit to each other in love, or die to our flesh.  "Where envy and selfish ambition are there you find disorder and every evil practice." Jas 3:16  Disorder is dysfunction.  The body is dysfunctional because there is too many seeking their own glory and not the glory of God.

I am happy to see you touched, stirred and motivated by these verses.  It is at the heart of the Kingdom of God.
133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant [it is] for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Bro Todd great points about that being the last prayer and being in one accord in the upper room. Hearing and reading the thoughts that Jesus gives to all of the members of the Body of Christ is so valuable.

Wow.  I am continually realizing more and more just how dysfunctional I've been all my life.  Bummer!  The good news is that Jesus is giving me an overhaul...so there's still hope yet!!!  Blessings to you, Kaspers!
