Stacey,  I understand your feeling hurt and angry.  After all you KNOW the changes that have happened in your heart and marriage.  This lady is limited to what God has warned us of, "Man looks on the outward appearance but God looks on the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7).  In order for her to know what your heart is she has to see your actions.  As you know it takes time to change some people's minds.  The bottomline is does it matter what she thinks?  You know the work God has done in you and in your marriage. Her opinion does not change any of that.   I encourage you to forgive her for her humanness as you would want to be forgiven.  It sounds to me like the enemy has used this well meaning lady to try to get you off course with offense.  I encourage not to allow the enemy a toehold, never mind a foothold in this area.  You have nothing to prove to her, just continue to follow our Lord and He will vindicate you.  Forgive and live your life for our Lord!

I am still fresh from an experience with a "pedestal Christian" or really a group of them. I was humiliated (in public), and though I tried to be very careful about returning insult for insult, I was definitely less than loving, and yes very preoccupied with my need for personal justice. I blew it! (Not as bad as those I was in conflict with, but still, I was given an opportunity and I muffed.) Next time, I will pledge myself not to seek justice but to allow God to shine through me.
