This is my first blog entry so I thought that I would start off with a poem that I ran accross on bible .org. I pray that this touches your hearts and encourages you as it did me. I have grown very fond of many people here on this site that I have never met in person(many I already know). It is amazing the work that I see the Lord doing on this site. I pray that we continue to build each other up and even rebuke each other as long as we do these things with kindess and love. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. Walking With God Gen. 5:24Oh! for a closer walk with God; A calm and heavenly frame; A light to shine upon the road That leads me to the Lamb! Where is the blessedness I knew When first I saw the Lord' Where is the soul-refreshing view Of Jesus and His Word' What peacful hours I once enjoy’d! How sweet their memory still! But they have left an aching void, The world can never fill. Return, O holy Dove, return Sweet Messenger of rest! I hate the sins that made Thee mourn, And drove Thee from my breast. The dearest idol I have known, Whate’er that idol be, Help me to tear it from Thy throne, And worship only Thee. So shall my walk be close with God, Calm and serene my frame; So purer light shall mark the road That leads me to the Lamb. Olney Hymns, William Cowper, from Cowper’s Poems, Sheldon & Company, New York I pray for God's blessings on all my brother and sisters in Christ on mychurch.org. I encourage you all in Christ's love. Your brother in Christ, Tom 40:31 but they that wait for Jehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint. |
