It's raining, it's pouring

It always seems that the crisis in my life seem to come in bunches. I am trying to have a positive attitude and to keep my heart from being bitter....but right now I don't feel very powerful in the Spirit. I desire your prayers for the following items:

#1 - My wifes mother (Sherry Fitschen) is a diabetic and had been having some leg pain the last two days. Yesterday, this leg started to swell. April got her mom to promise that she would go to the doctor to get it checked out this morning. Well, it's a good thing that she did because the doctor is convinced that it's a blood clot. They go in for the MRI to confirm it at 12:30 and then once it's confirmed then they go to the hospital for surgery. Please pray for my wife's mother and our family today. My wife is really worried. I am trying to encourage her but I almost don't have the strength. I told her that God will be with Mom and her and that He will give us strength to get through it.

#2 - Which brings me to #2. Starting Monday I started coming down with a virus (or at least what I hope is a virus) of some sort. I started getting body aches and minor fever. It's been getting progressively worse. Last night was the worst. I had the chills so bad that I had three layers of clothing on and that still didn't help. I'm still feeling bad this morning - but not as bad as last night. So hopefully I'm on the downside of this thing. I don't appear to be running much of a fever...but the body aches and general malaise are just zapping what strength I have left.

#3 - We have two older vehicles that have started to have car problems. Our truck, which has less miles, is what we've been trying to drive lately because it's in better condition. Well, we've had it to the mechanic twice in the last month for brake problems. The first time they did the front brakes...then last week I noticed a lot of "give" in the pedal and took it in and they said the back left brake pad had disintigrated...so they fixed that. Well, it continued to have problems after we picked it up. Last night, I was talking to my wife's brother (who works at the place we took it to get fixed) on the phone while we were driving home and we came up to a red light and couldn't stop. I mean I was pressing on the brake pedal and nothing was happening. We went into a slide in the gravel after the brakes finally caught and just missed the SUV in front of us. So we had to take the truck back in this morning and now they figured out that the Master Cylinder is bad which is another $200 that we have to put into it. Luckily, the owner is allowing us to make payments. Because right now financially we don't have another $200 to give them.

#4 - Which brings me to #4 - well, as I said recently, we got some good news about a financial issue. Well, after further research, the news is still good - just delayed. So now we are having to play the "count the pennies" game for the next couple of weeks because some finances that we had expected last week aren't going to be coming until the end of the month.

All of this added together is just taking it's toll on me.

Hey, they're just potholes! The enemy wants to try to hit with more if just one dosen't do it.

Hey Loren....now I understand your title for this blog...when it rains, it pours, eh? We can relate. Know you all will be in my prayers. That God will give you the strength to just keep trusting Him in all of this. It is hard, I do know, but it's harder NOT to trust Him, if you know what i mean.

God's got your back. He totally does. And so do we in prayer.

GOD never fails! He will see us through anything! I getcha! Praying for you, and your family! Keep the faith and rely on him for your all of your "pot holes" like Bubbles said! We love you and your family Loren and prayer is a mighty thing! Trust in him that he will give you power equal to your tasks!

Aprils mom didn't have to have surgery because the problem wasn't a clot. There is still some swelling and pain in the leg - but they think it's something else. They're still monitoring the situation.

I'm still sick. It's going on about 8 days now. I finally went to the Dr. on Saturday and they gave me some antibiotics. It seems to be helping. I'm just really weak from running a fever for so long. My asthma is giving me problems too which is complicating things. It's just been a rough week for me physically. I'm plumb wore out.
