Awesome, Deb. It has been years since I have seen that picture and been reminded of how it must be us to open our "doors" to Jesus. Thanks for sharing!

Great post, Deb!  I used this picture for a children's sermon several years ago.  It's my favorite picture of Jesus!

Great one! I heard a story once that a little girl one day came to her Mom and said I open the door of my heart to Jesus and shut it closed of He couldn't get back out!
Your right about no door knob on the out side that is because you have to open it from within and let Him in!
                              GOD BLESS an open door,
                                        Bro.

Great post Deb...I love this picture of Jesus, even in His face, you see His Kindness and Mercy. As He knocks...it is gentle in nature, not demanding of one trying to reach the dweller. I love it! He patiently knocks.
Bless you Deb!

So true; even to those of us who are already in a  relationship with Him, hopefully other things don't distract us.

Angel, thank you :)

Steven Anthony, my mom had this pic hanging in the hallway too.  I bet a lot of our mother's had this at one time!

Carol, thank you!

Cathy, so was I.  lol  Actually someone brought this up and I hadn't thought about the picture for a long time.

Kathy, I would have to agree that this is one of my favorite pictures...also the one where he kneels in front of the rock to pray.

Doyle, I have closed the door too, so Jesus can't get back out!  Cute.

GiGi, great thing to point out.  Thank you!

Mike, I may not open the door to people if I am not ready for the day, but I will to Jesus!

Jade, thank you.  It serves as a reminder to me too.

Jen, that is a good thing to point out too...to not let things distract us.

My granny had this picture hanging in her living room. What a nice trip down memory lane for me.I've been on a distraction, discouragement, doubt kick.I was thinking how I get distracted in my relationship w/ Christ.Sometimes I get so distracted I stop having my time with Him.I don't even hear Jesus knocking let alone talking to me,then I wonder why I get so discouraged and doubtful.Duh.Great blog as always Deb.

racunpoodle, thank you.  I know that I am guilty of not hearing Jesus when He is knocking.  Sometimes he has to pound quite a bit, like he is pounding something into my head, before I realize I need to be listening!

I believe that Jesus knocks at you hearts door everyday, asking us if we are going to let him rule our hearts today. Thank you for reminding me to answer Jesus knock today!

As Pastor Tim noted..
I think He knocks gently every day... pulls those heartstrings and has such high hopes that we will answer!  I have such remorse and I repent of the many days I've gotten busy and left the knock ignored until I was ready.

Most do NOT know where this Picture comes from??

This Picture is from Revelations Chapter 3: 15-20

15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot.
I wish you were either one or the other!

16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—
I am about to spit you out of my mouth
.

17 You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.'

But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich;

and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness;

and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and REPENT.

20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My VOICE and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with ME.

Jesus is TALKING and Knocking, do we hear His VOICE/ Knock??

Sounds like HE is asking the Lukewarm- RICH Church of America to REPENT??

What do you think??

Joey, oh yes, I have remorse too, over not answering when I should have.  I try to answer right away now.

docthailand,  great thought, and thank you for sharing the scripture that this is talking about.

Cheryl, I am praising Him right along with you that I answered!
