Benji, true, nobody can and should claim to be a spiritual giant as such.  But others may call you a spiritual giant after seeing your hidden life in Christ Jesus.  This message serves as a warning to them. If I consider you as a spiritual giant, then this message should serve as a warning to you.

Be not deceived that God is not mocked for whatever a man sows that shall he also reap.  Can a man bring hot coals to his chest and not be burned?  You are so very right about the subltle deception that we think to ourselves, "Nothing happened, nobody saw, I must have gotten away with it."   We must be vigilient about our holiness.  Then enemy constantly assails our minds and that is why we must cast down every argument that exalts itself against the authority of Christ.
Other wise, a little sleep a little slumber a little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come upon you like an armed man.  This proverb I beleive applies to our spirts as well as our work ethic. I wrote a message a while back on the helmet of salvation it speaks of protecting our minds against Satanic attack.  Here is the link perhaps it will reenforce what you have already said.

I read the wonderful blog of  Brother Todd. Benji, my dear brother, now let me leave the subject "of who a spiritual giant is".  I now replace this word with "a saint".  As you are aware, we are all saints in Christ Jesus. A saint may fall anytime in this world.  He has take heed to the little things in his/her life.

LITTLE FOXES

“Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines; for our vines have tender grapes”, pleads the bridegroom, in verse 15 of Chapter 2 of Song of Songs with his bride to take the little foxes that spoil the vines of love in their lives, for the vines have tender grapes.  The grapes are not ripe but tender.

The love of Jesus is perfect but your love for Him is still imperfect.  Your love being imperfect, the grapes are tender, and not ripe.

The little things in your life – the things that you think to be trivial – in fact corrode the very foundation of your spiritual life, and thus spoil the vines, which have tender grapes.  It may be your failure in calling on a person in distress personally.  It may be your lack of concern or love for a beggar asking for alms. It may be your lack of concern for a poorly clad stranger who visits your church.  It may be your telling a “little lie” or distorting somebody’s version.  It may be a little hatred in your heart against somebody.  It may be a little pride or a little impatience on your part.  It is for you to examine the little things in your life and remove them with the help of the Holy Ghost, the Helper. is cleft-like wounds give us eternal refuge.  We would be spiritually safe so long as we identify ourselves with the crucified Christ.

I think of the story of Achan.  When in Jericho he was commanded not to take any of the spoils of war for it belonged to God.  The Scripture says that Achan "saw, he coveted and he took."  He buried the spoils under his tent thinking that he got away with it.  Yet when Joshua and his men went to take AI they were soundly defeated.  Achan's sin affected a whole lot more than himself.  It effected himself, the nation, and his family.  A very sobering thought indeed.  Many times we think we need to stay pure for our own sakes, but what about all of the others who love us, need us, and look up to us?  Achan was blinded by his lust for things and therefore his failure cost many lives.  The man of God needs to be aware that others are depending upon him, and that the importance of his personal integrity can not be understated.

Great comment about the little foxes.. a tremendous truth!
