Hey Abby.  Sounds like your a lot like me at 14.  Difference is, you have access to the internet (gosh I feel old - there was only 1 computer in my HS that had an internet connection when I graduated!).

Anyways, if you're on a site like this, I gotta believe you're looking for answers.   Maybe I can help answer a few for ya.

I was always hung up on the 'whys' that you asked here, and some more to add.  You think to yourself - how hypocritical is the world that in a war, it's heroic, on the street it's murder.

I didn't understand Jesus or God or anything (I thought I did) when I was younger.

Do any of these questions sound like yours?

Why does bad stuff happen?

Why would God let little kids/animals/people suffer and get hurt?

What's the point?

Why would God make us just so we'd die?

IS there a God?

Does God care?

How can God really know or care about all the problems of the world including mine?

Are my problems less or worse important?

I'll tell you what - they're heavy questions, and they don't seem to have apparent answers without God.

There's a few things you have to consider.  The world is messed up.  But it's not GOD that messed it up...it's humanity.  So all of your posts asking about war, messed up families, hurting each other, and other problems are the result of sin.  Now, nowadays people don't believe in sin - they think that the things they do aren't as bad as someone else, so they're "OK" in God's book.

But sin started at the beginning and the interactions of sins from then to know have caused all the problems in the world.  It's NOT God punishing you for something you've done - but a result of sin in the world.

If there's sin, God has to have a plan.  His plan was to let us choose Him or choose sin.  We were given free will and we messed it up.

By messing it up, we ruined creation - or flawed it.  Death and suffering exist because of sin in the world.  

But Jesus was sinless when he came as a man - and died and rose and defeated death, which is what sin created.

So, what got me through those questions was the fact that the world is messed up, because of us, and the only way around it is through Jesus.  By accepting Him as our Savior, we are forgiven and we CHOSE Him...and our gift is Heaven after we live this flawed earth.  Our purpose on this earth is to help others find Him, and that gets me through the problems of this life - that HE has my back and one day I will be with Him.

Humans are makeing the world the way it is cupcake! AMEN! Its up to people like you and me to change it one homophobe and war obssesed hypocritical biased two faced mean spirited person at a time... so we must try help over 90% of the earths population become more understanding and open minded... big job right? But if we dont start it here who will? Good job with this blog hun. So many people today refuse to beleave that they are doing wrong and that somebody for once might be right. And others are just plain cruel to anybody of different sexuality or race or even religon because they have morphed the bible in there heads to make it say what they want and then they preach it against people like us.
