Hi Andrea!  Anything can be a god, but only God can be God!

Well, since that logo was for the BAND "lamb of god" it's not really what I'd look to for respect of the God of the Bible, especially since they were originally called "Burn the Priest".

Actually, come to think of it - that's the difference.  You show respect for GOD by capitalizing the first letter, and in cases of the band mentioned above, I would say it's a sign of DISrespect.

Hope that helps.

God is a word that attempts to de-scribe a thought on the templates of our Mind.

God and Man is the same thing but the words are hijacked by culture that limits the description.

Jesus attempted to rewrite this understanding but very few understood the word.

The devil of the mind comes immediately to say "no way"  and most simply go on without the seeds of good understanding.

Mat 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Andrea, good question...

BTW, the "lamb of god" band is very anti-God and pro "gods of this world," no matter how they capitalize God's name. They use profanity liberally, and are NOT a good band to listen to.

The name of the God of the Bible, in my mind, should always be capitalized. Pronouns that refer to Him as well. Such as in "He is my Rock!" "Rock" is also capitalized as it refers to Him as well.

Devout Jewish people will go a step further and will spell His name G_d so as not to take the Lord's name in vain. I have explored some of these thoughts in a post about the use of OMG found *here* And, by the way, thanks goes to you for contributing to that discussion....

Have you thought of posting this to our DEEP group? I think that this would be a good one for them!

Good question, Andrea.  God is the Creator of all things.  A god is someone in mythology like Zeus, an idol, etc.  ANYTHING can be a god (or goddess) but God is God.  No god is as powerful as our God
