| Why do you STAR blogs? |
|
| |
I am sure that everyone likes to get a star on their blogs... after all, it is a form of a compliment that what you have written is worthy of consideration or better said, "STARdom."
I am just curious why you give stars to folks. So, why do you?
As for me, I am slowly developing my own "criteria" that I use as a guide... here are some of my reason(s) for starring someone...
1. Well written. Clear, concise, and challenging. 2. I may not agree but you made me rethink my assumptions. 3. Uplifting. 4. Cute and pithy! 5. Doctrinal position well stated (though one may not agree) 6. Catchy 7. My wife wrote it!!!
Ok... so , why do you star?

P.S. How about a star? LOLOLOLOL |

I would say I star a blog because it has made me think, smile, understand something, brightened my day, lifted me up
- Jade PS you get a star because you made me think about why I star blogs *grin* |
|
|
| I star blogs because, your a shining star, no matter who you are... |
|
|
Really deep JoshMo.... thx.

|
Your best reason is #7. lol lol
Ok, seriously... I starred blogs that shows sincerity, intention, passion, knowledge in the subject, written by a kid, and those that make me laugh, cry, and/or make me praise God.
I will never star a blog that in order to make a point put other people's opinion down in a disrespectful fashion.
And yes... I will star your blog ;-) |

Here's my list:
1.) It was short enough to read (Don't normally star the ones I can't finish.) Unless.... 2.) It was posted by a friend, who I know always has a good word. 3.) I agree with it for the most part. 4.) Just to bless someone! After all, they're free!
And that's basically it. If I read a post, it'll almost always get a star. Unless....
1.) The author is arrogant in his/her presentation. 2.) I think a post was created for the sole purpose of getting stars.
And since you fall into the first list.... A star para me amigo! |
|
|
My main reason is Sue's #4 above. I mean, they're free for Pete's sake, why not give em away if you know they'll make people feel good? Why bust all conscientious about whether a blog is deserving or meritorious, when it's just a star after all? Starring is a little thing, like smiling.
That said, I have noticed some amazingly well written blogs, making fantastic spiritual points, very beneficial and informative to read, yet having received very few stars (recognition). Often this is b/c the author hasn't gone out and "mingled with the crowd", or lacks popularity. On the other hand, I've seen people post fairly inane content that has received significant starrage, seemingly due their popularity. Some get frustrated by this.
I would also add to Sue's first list...
5.) I star any blog about blogging, or starring, or MyChurch. lol |

| I star blogs that i like.....its that simple....LOL |

Mike,
I too find the "starring" of various blogs intriguing... that is why I just shared my "criteria" as a means to figuring out why some blogs outweigh others in stars; however, other blogs go unnoticed but do outweigh others in substance.
Thanks for input!

Ok, where is my star? LOLOLO
Anyone who takes the time to write here and share his or her thoughts is already a shining star in my mind. Had said that, remember what Jesus said [paraphrasing]: "To Cesar what is Cesar's." We do not need to be given stars we already a STAR in Jesus' eyes. (I can almost see Señor Morales disagreeing with me. Maybe I can get a start for that. LOLOLO)
PS. I'll give him a start. |

Hmmm 1,3,4 (and 7 is good) I like to encourage. If I don't agree or I think it is bad, I wont bother leaving comment at all, much less a star. If I believe a writing is missing a scripture I will add that to a comment. I don't get a chance to read a lot here, but I wait for the chance to leave a star every day. :) |
|
|
Victorious,
Well stated...what do you determine to be bad?

|
| I pretty much give a star whenever I can. Sometimes, it is worth a comment rather than a star. For me I would much rather have a comment to let me know what you thought and that you were there than a star. If I don't give a star is because it something rubbed me wrong or they didn't put much thought our effort into it. Kind of like, "If you can't say something nice, don't say it at all." |

The www web uses towers to relay communication. The www web is allowing us all to have one voice within many languages. When we star anything it enables a certain language to be heard as "higher" to attract even more builders to it's self. Think of stars as bricks.
Now lets build a tower that touches God.
