| Bush says geting closer to the Lord is a daily occurrence |

This is from a rather long and candid online interview the President did today with Politico.com.

— His Christian faith has increased in office, since “part of the faith walk is to understand your weaknesses and is to constantly try to embetter yourself and get closer to the Lord, and that's a daily occurrence.”
“Obviously, there's been some tough moments in here,” he said. “When you know that somebody lost their loved one as a result of a decision that I made, that's a tough moment. If you're a faithful person, you try to empathize with the suffering that that person is going through. On the other hand, there is a knowledge that the good Lord can comfort during these moments of grief. And that's what I ask for in my prayer.” |

| I admire Bush for making tough decisions and standing by them. There is no doubt being in such a position of responsibility requires a great degree of humility. Might I add this sure beats what President Clinton said before he signed the bill to allow partial birth abortions where he said, "he prayed about it." If he prayed, it sure was a 1 sided conversation! I also feel for President Bush because I think he is genuine and sincere, but lost the confidence of the people. |

| I have watched several Presidents now and Bush started off strong. He was unable to work with Congress and that is where he failed, IMHO. He was good at reaching across party lines in Texas, but never was able to achieve it in DC. One thing for sure is that he has walked and talked his faith unashamedly. |

| Thanks for the link. I read it all. I believe his Christian faith is genuine. Of course, I believed that before I read the article :) |

| You try working with Nacy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Barak O'bama etc...and see how far you get. |
| You forgot his fellow republican Mr McCain! ;^) |
| Yeah, he hasn't exactly been a team player. But he was wise enough to realize that he would have been comitting political suicide by siding with an unpopular president. Goes back to our discussion on integrity doesn't it? |

| It must be difficult knowing you have sent many men and women into war. I would cling to the Lord too !!! |
