| Would you Love God |

Would you Love God:
If your house was taken away Would you Love God? If your car was taken away Would you Love God? If your spouse was taken away Would you Love God? If your job was taken away Would you Love God? If you where diagnosed with a terminal illness Would you Love God? If you had to money in your pockets Would you Love God? If you had no food to eat Would you Love God? If your family was taken away Would you Love God?
We can use Job as our example: 1:1There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name [was] Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. 1:2 And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters. 1:3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.
Job was a rich man, he had everything. But we see in the following verses what happened to him:
1:8And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that [there is] none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? 1:9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? 1:10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 1:11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. 1:12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath [is] in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD. 1:13 And there was a day when his sons and his daughters [were] eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: 1:14 And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them: 1:15And the Sabeans fell [upon them], and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. 1:16 While he [was] yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. 1:17While he [was] yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. 1:18 While he [was] yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters [were] eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: 1:19 And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
Job suffered in his physical body and lost everything he had. He lost his family, land, animals, and wealth. But yet he still Loved God, praised him and served Him. Later in scripture we find that Job was given it all back. Even more then what was taken away from him.
If you had gone through every thing that Job had went through......
Would you still Love God?
God's Love for us is unconditional.

| Good point. Thats a huge question and you think people would automatically say yes. I my self has questioned Gods decisions over my life. Its a tough world we live in and His rules are not easy. However we must continue the good fight in the midst of it all and continue to love Him as He loves us. Our love for Him should be greater than any material thing especially money. Job suffered but he got the benefits in the end. His faith couldnt be shooked. |

Half of these things have happened to me, yet I love God still. He never leaves us or forsakes us Dr T. God is not a man that He should lie. We know from the Word that the lines (or plans) have already been drawn in pleasant places for us . Despite what we suffer, we know that God is working all things for our good. Paul says I have learned to be abased and to abound (in other words Its all good!)
As long as we have Christ and Christ has us we will ultimately win the victory over any temporary setback in our journey. Divorce, bankruptcy, lay offs....these are all traumatic events that unfortunately have happened to many of us. But through it all, God shows Himself strong! He is a restorer and a healer. He redeems the time. All power is in His hands! All power! So yes, I still love my God...through it all. Love Laurie Anne |

The Lord has carried me through several of the circumstances you mentioned and I know that without My Father I would not have survived. Yes, I will love God and stand firm in my faith that He will always carry me through. Great Post! |

| We are to praise Him through the storm, and I like to think that I will, but we can't know it until we are put to the test. I cry out to Him for help so much now, that I think it would be the natural response to turn to Him, and love Him. |
|

We love and serve God because of Who He is and not because what He does for us.
2:9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. 2:10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips. Evil meaning adversity. Though He slay me yet will I trust Him! |

| Brother Todd- if God does not do anything for us, then why would we Love Him.We would not even know he exist. We would not be alive if He did not do anything for us. He woke us up this morning, He gave us eyes to see, ears to hear, food on our table, cloths on our back, we are clothed in our right minds etc. Because of who he is we are. So yes we do Love him for what he does for us. He does everything for us. We can not do anything on our own. Without Him we can do nothing but with He we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. |
|
|
| Brother Todd that may be true with you but you do not represent the world. You view is the way its supposed to be, but of course we do not live in a perfect world. |
|
|
| Been there already...yep! God is awesome and faithful! |

| Dr. Tameka we know Him because He has revealed Himself to us. We love Him because He first loved us. He is worthy of our praise because of His character. Even if He never did another thing for me, it would not change how I feel about Him. I think that was the point of your message here, is, would you love God inspite of what you lost or encountered? The answer is yes, shall we only serve Him when things are going good? Of course not, we serve and love Him all the time, even when it seems like our world is falling apart. |
|
|
Brother Todd- The point of this message is correct in what you stated. The point being, would you love Him regardless of what you have lost or what had been taken away from you. This blog was to pose a question. To get us thinking about things that had or have happened to us as believers and what our response would be. It was not a message of Loving Him because he has given us materialistic things. We Love him because of who He is, our God and Lord of our lives.
Just wanted to bring clarification to the blog. |

Powerful blog my sister..I am a living witness, as so many others are here on MyChurch, that *nothing* shall separate me from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:35-39). I've personally gone through 6 of the 8 things listed above, and as a result of going through all of them, I can declare before the whole wide world, that through Him (JESUS), we can always have the VICTORY, no matter what we go through in this life. Do I love Him any less because of what I went through....I think not...I love Him even the more....All those test...and all those trials...kept me on my face in prayer and humbled before the Lord, and through His Word, and through all of those experiences...I found my God to be FAITHFUL......*He* restored back all!
Oh YES I still love Him my sister...even the more.....Bless His Holy Name! |

Brother Todd..I agree with you 100%....This is the conclusion of the matter.....
We know Him because He has revealed Himself to us. Of course not, we serve and love Him all the time, even when it seems like our world is falling apart. |

| yes and amen. the testimony of my life has been that I have lost many things for the sake of the cross. I am currently living a Job experience with my finances, my marriage, and my career. Yet, I choose to serve, trust, and worship Jesus. He, alone brings me joy unspeakable and peace that surpasses all understanding. I submit that the greatest test of our faith; however, is not the story of "worship in adversity", but, rather can we serve him in prosperity. Often when we are on the mountaintops in life we forget that it is Jesus who provides our riches and our surplus. My prayer is that when Jesus restores me and gives me my promised double protion; I am able to remain faithful, humble; bowed to my face in submission and adoration to the one who keeps me from falling. |
|
|
Revstarr I like that a lot! worship in adversity and serve Him in prosperity. Prosperity is a great test in and of itself.
Dr. Tameka, God bless you! Keep preaching His word! Thank you, for your dilligence and faithfulness. |

God's love for us is unconditional. But is our love for God unconditional as well? I'll bet far fewer can say that than would call themselves "Christian". This is very lamentable, but I am sure it has always been that way. Jesus did say "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." John defined love for us: "This is love for God: to obey his commands." Powerful blog, Dr T! |

| yes i would still love god because god loves unconditionally and has compassion on us and is loving kindness and is considerate and curteous and faithful and loyal and true to his people and shows all his mercy and grace towards us and he is our shepard and we're his sheep and he is the holy and blameless one and our delieverer and are sword and shieldand our strong tower of refuge and strength and powerful and mighty and victorious and he is for us and if god is for us who can be against us nobody not one person can be against us at all and he is the lord of host's as well and he is gentle and kind hearted and fulfills our desires and our needs and want's and request's and i also agree with brother t. and well god is good all the time all the time god is good amen and also god keeps his promises as well amen i love u sister in christ dr. tameka |

| We got to love God dispute the situation. No matter what it looks like. God is there. So we must cast all our cares, worries, frustrations on Him, an He'll take care of the rest. Wonderful, blog! |
|
|
| Ahhh!! God's love is unconditional. What a powerful thing to realize, God's love is one thing that most people can't fathom. He loves us no matter what we do and will show it to us whether it be through a gentle whisper or touch; or through a huge storm or disciplinary tactic. We to should be mindful of what God need to show us through his unconditional love and be willing to take the heat (so to speak) and apply what He wants to show us or teach us to our own lives. |

Well am I the only one here who has sometimes gotten mad at God because of circumstances? I feel rather inferior, because of all the glib answers going down. People around here seem to have their acts all together.
This post was an excellent reminder to me, who am not so perfect as the others seem to be, that next time I am in difficulties, it is not because God is punishing me per se, but perhaps because he wants to see whether I have faith enough that his grace is sufficient for me, or to help me to understand that.
Excellent post! Deserves a star! |

| When the storms come we tend to tremble. Trust and Faith in God Almighty is the rock that I desire to stand on at all times. More times than I would like my flesh shows more than my trust. Through these things I find more often than not that I have grown in Christ. Praise his name! He never gives up on me. |

| In trials it is hard to remember to Love God...But I have learned not only to love Him but the reason I live is to worship Him. Worship is a daily life style, not given to him because the right song is playing but Worshipping God for just who he is thee - I AM !! |

| Yes... I would still love God! |
|
|
| I hope that I would say, "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away; blessed be the name of the Lord." He's God and I am not, and He is always worthy of my praise, regardless. But would I do this? Frankly, I don't know until I am there...and of course, no one wants to find out. |

Wow, this is really a loaded question.
To answer the question, "Do I love God?"
OK, here goes...my livelihood was taken - my marriage was on the rocks - my newborn daughter (3 months premature) had just been flown by chopper to the regional children's hospital for a hole in her undeveloped intestines. Yes, I was at wits end to say the last. I was now working at a factory - a job that was about 10 levels below where I just knew I should be... the bank had issued foreclosure documents with the federal courts for both the business and the house that we called home... we had less than 250 dollars to our name and the life-saving surgery that would be only a one in ten chance of success on such a small patient would only partly be covered by my wife's insurance...
yeah, I felt that I had a reason and motive to curse God for all that was happening to me... but I didn't... I went to work (the 180 days probation period I was under didn't allow time off for any reason) and so I did what was required to get a paycheck... then I would drive the 90 miles to the hospital after my shift ended at 2AM to sit with my wife in the NCIU for the few hours I could afford (or sleep in the waiting room) before going home to shower, shave and sleep for a few hours to begin the day again.
This continued for more days than I can remember - it's all a blur when I try to recall the details - but one evening after waht seemed like years at this but I know was only about two or three weeks
I reported for my shift at work one evening and was greeted by my leadman who handed me an envelope. My heart dropped as I knew that I was barely meeting the quotas set for the department. He said, "The men wanted to help you out with your expenses". In the envelope were 5's and 10's and 20's totaling a two weeks wages...
I was numb... I didn't even know these men and could only name a dozen of the 40 men on my shift at best.
For at my darkest hour when I had given up on what I could do as a father... wage-earner... co-worker... people who did not even know me knew what I was going through and by His grace answered as they could when they were asked to help. I had only taken this job until something better opened up in my field...
This past March marked 14 years working with the same guys who believed in me - and Him - even when I had given up on both...
Did you mention Job as an example to consider?
Well I have to admit that small book of wisdom was the source of my strength during that time and I can tell you about what he went through.... read it over 50 times...
Job was right... God was not the problem... he was not sure what it was... but he knew in his heart of hearts that God was not the reason he had lost everything. Learned so much during that season of my life that I am writing this through the haze of tears as they stream down my face to finish this... He didn't give up on me... even if I did...
yeah... Job had it right... God is good all the time God is good and to answer the question, yes I love Him!
footnote: I just attended my daughter's induction to the National Jr. Honor Society... yes, she makes me angry some days as teenagers will do but also makes my heart sing for showing me His mercy and grace.

| These are all powerful testimony's. Thank you all for sharing them with us all. We are here to encourage and uplift each other. After all we go through, there is nobody that can do us like God. To Love is to know God! |

Wonderful blog :) Makes one stop and think. Grant : I'm with you..... I have shook my fist at heaven and yelled at God in anger. And yet, He waits, patiently, for me to settle down and realize He didn't create my problem.....AND that if I'll just shut my mouth and listen, HE'S got the answer to solve it :) |
|
|
I think that I would still love God because he is always there for me when I need him even though sometimes you would find it hard when you lose a baby that you didn't think that you could have and it was taken away I blamed God for that and when I settled down I knew that He was there to help me through with what I went through thank you God |

OUTSTANDING BLOG
NOTHING CAN SEPERATE ME FROM THE LOVE OF GOD
POSSESSIONS ARE ONLY TEMPORARY.
The people would one day possess land in Canaan, but in God’s plan, only God’s ownership was absolute. He wanted his people to avoid greed and materialism. If you have the attitude that you are taking care of the Lord’s property, you will make what you have more available to others. This is difficult to do if you have an attitude of ownership. Think of yourself as a manager of all that is under your care, not as an owner. BIBLE READING: Matthew 6:19-34 KEY BIBLE VERSE: No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. (Matthew 6:24)
