Ok. I am kind of frustrated. I joined Mychurch to fellowship with other Christians (ones from my home church, satellite churches, as well as new people) I did not, however, join this site to debate my beliefs. I don't find it necessary to try and "defend" what I believe because someone feels offended that I am not keeping an "open mind". No amount of convincing or trying to push their hippie beliefs onto me is going to make me change my mind. Does that make me close minded? To some, perhaps. But I am not trying to please them in any way. The only one that matters to me is my Father in heaven. As one of my favorite Pastors says "I would rather look like a fool to man than to my God" So here goes. I am going to say this once, if you are going to try and argue with me or try and push those beliefs of yours onto me, go ahead, but I won't respond. I believe in the infallible truth of the Bible. I believe it was ordained by God. I believe that God came to earth (humbled as His son, Jesus Christ). He died on the cross to save me from my sins (as well as anyone else who calls on him) 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach: 10:9 because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus `as' Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved: 10:10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. I believe that after dying on the cross, Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven after telling His disciples to spread His Word. I believe that He (Jesus) sits at the right hand of God until He comes again when He will judge everyone (a right He earned by obeying His Father and dying for us). I believe in the trinity (The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one). I believe that the church will be raptured BEFORE the Tribulation occurs (in a twinkling of an eye 1 Corinthians 15:52) As a thief in the night (1 Thessalonians 5:2), no one will know the hour in which He will take His bride (Matthew 24:36). I don't believe God is "in" us and we are God (just because He is omnipresent or omniscient). I believe that the only way to God is for those who call on Jesus and ask Him in our hearts. 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. I believe that Heaven is a place where God sits on His throne with Jesus on His right and where the angels sing praises to Him. Otherwise why would a cloud take Jesus up as He ascended into heaven? 1:9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. I believe that one can't lose their salvation unless they deny God, Jesus or the Spirit. 2:12 if we endure, we shall also reign with him: if we shall deny him, he also will deny us: So there you have it. Some of my beliefs. I don't feel like I need to defend these any more than I already have. If someone feels the need to argue, they are free to post as they wish. I will not respond since I find that arguing this is like trying to butt my head against the wall...it goes no where and it only causes pain. Please keep in mind that I am not "hatin'", I love everyone as Jesus commanded me. I will not "embrace" other religions, since that is not what God has commanded me to do. |
