What is our Purpose???

What is our Purpose in Life?  We are to Praise God:
150:6 Let everything which has breath give praise to the Lord. Let the Lord be praised.
We are to Worship God:
4:10 Then said Jesus to him, Away, Satan: for it is in the Writings, Give worship to the Lord your God and be his servant only.

We are commanded to Witness:
1:8 But you will have power, when the Holy Spirit has come on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judaea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Did you realize that God set His purpose for you in place before you were even born?

1:5 Before you were formed in the body of your mother I had knowledge of you, and before your birth I made you holy; I have given you the work of being a prophet to the nations.

To some that might be a bit presumptious.  We like to be independent and free to make our own decisions.  We need to remember that God created us.  He knows us better than we know ourselves.  Based on what He knows about us and the world around us, He designed a plan for each of us.  We do have a choice to make.  We must decide whether we will discover and fulfill God's purpose, thus attaining abundant joy, satisfaction, and eternal reward, or whether we will stumble about trying to do our own thing.

God did not  plan for all of us to do the same thing (I Corinthians 12), but each of us working together and doing our part for the Lord is what will draw people to Him.

Ask God to show you what your purpose is and to help you fulfill it.  Be faithful.  He will
reveal more and more of His plan to you.

I have been studying and brewing over this thing called purpose for the past few weeks....I will have a blog ready a little later once I have things in order.  So many people do not know their purpose and they are not tied to anything greater than themselves so they lose hope.  Good Word!!

(before the world was ever made he chose us for his purpose...What infinite Power. Oh Lord How Great Thou Art....

What a great blog to chew on this morning!

Like Plumbline, I've been really pondering and seeking God as to what my purpose is for right now, this minute, this week, this season.

The cool thing is that God plans it all out very creatively--you have to tune in to His channel in order to get the right information that will lead you onto the right path to discover His plans for us.

4Given:  There is so much to say about what you just wrote.  God does indeed have a plan and a purpose for each one of us.  We are unique and important not only to God but to the world and the body of Christ. Generally speaking we were all created to glorify God, how we do that is the wonderful individual expression of our lives!  Great Post! Thank you.

Great post, great responses...

If I can share, I realized I needed a Savior after realize sin was the fault of mankind (Adam and Eve started it and it's been here since), and we were given the free will to choose the Lord, a Lord that created us not because He needed us to worship Him or needed the 'ego boost' - God is perfect and has no NEEDs...but because He created us out of Love, and it makes SUCH sense that once we realize His plan was to pull us out of the alternative of sinning and NOT choosing Him (Death and Hell) through Christ's death on our behalf - how can we NOT worship and praise Him? 

He is our FATHER, we were given life by Him and how can we NOT grow in our Christian walk by realizing how GREAT GRACE is?

I could go on, but it's funny - it's SO logical to me that sometimes I don't understand why I couldn't get it through my head sooner  :)  

All part of His plan!

Thanks Growing - I know what you mean!  We get it when God is ready for us to absorb it!  I can read things several times,  then go back a week later and see it again and boom I get it!
